If SJ had that much trouble with LAK's offense, they are going to be hurting against ours... likewise, we struggled against a s***ty PHX PP, the SJ PP is going to murder us.

He has been taking a discount for the past half decade for us. There are 8 defensmen that have a higher cap hit than him right now and 10 players who have a higher salary this year than him.

The cap was already going to go up 3-4 million (According to January numbers) for next season due to another excellent financial year (thanks Bettman), then add the 2mil every team will be receiving from the new TV deal, that makes the cap rise to 5-6 million. It's not outpacing inflation by the least.

One year deals only my friend. If he retires with a long term deal we'd eat that cap space.
