    Explain This To Me?!?!

I wasn't speeding, I was only speeding a little bit, I shouldn't get in trouble. Barely a crosscheck is still a crosscheck. I mean, this is a brutal crosscheck that nearly stops Sedin's heart.

    Beth Bernstein, not Beth Electrophile.

    Lidstrom nominated for Norris

Lol, that was what I was trying to say...in the nice way haha.

    Lidstrom nominated for Norris

If we had a goalie that was top 3 on GAA and SV%, Lidstrom would have had a much much higher +/-. Instead, we had a goalie who ranked 34th in GAA and 31st in SV%. Our team ranked 19th in SV% and 23rd in GAA while NSH ranked 3rd in both GAA and SV%. A more consistent goalie like Rinne would have rendered Lidstrom with a substantially higher +/-, but facts are facts and our starting goalie was god awful during the regular season.
  5. This is the first line-up that I have not seen you put Hudler at center.

What Teams Scare Us Right Now?

Every team minus the Preds, has shaky goaltending. I don't give into fear.

    Lidstrom nominated for Norris

Those were the top three vote getters huh. Nick HAS to be the winner then. I honestly though Yandle or Vishy would win it...but them not being in the top three vote getters has to mean Nick got the most votes.
  8. I agree with the idea of having Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Filppula centering their own lines.
  9. You can't always think about offense. We were able to stack the lines last series cause' PHX just plain sucks. Our next round opponents we are going to need all 4 lines to be able to shut down lines. Only way to do that is have Zata, Datsyuk, Filppula all centering their own lines while having one other defensively responsible winger on that same line. Plus, Cleary had 26 goals this season, he knows how to find the back of the net.

Positive Signs for The Wings in These Playoffs

Does anyone else still laugh when people say we lost because of reffing? Reffing was terribly one sided the first two games this past series against the Yotes and we swept them. Reffing wasn't the issue, we just weren't healthy enough and/or too tired. Reffing is still garbage but we are finally rested.

    Philly vs. Buffalo

SO much for all that toughness Philly. Should have invested in a goalie instead of grit.

    Enforcers in the Playoffs

I was taking a jab at the poster that said if you want to make the playoffs you need an enforcer. I was simply showing that if you have an enforcer that there's a good chance you'll lose. It was suppose to be sarcastic.
  13. Holmstrom - Datsyuk - Cleary Hudler - Zetterberg - Franzen Abdelkader - Filppula - Bertuzzi Draper - Helm - Eaves. PP1: Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Holmstrom PP2: Franzen - Filppula - Hudler Solid down the center. Every line is 100% defensively responsible. Every line has a bit of grit around the net and a guy who is an excellent passer and a guy who is a good shooter.

    Enforcers in the Playoffs

The ones in bold have lost or are losing currently in their series. 4 winning, 8 losing. Conclusion, you dress an enforcer, you're probably going to lose the series
  15. The first game back a player usually plays up to, or above par due to adrenaline, it's the next two games that will be tough.

    Big TV, Big Cap

Well geez, didn't know you were going to get so butthurt. I've watched him in these playoffs and he's looked good. Highest +/- among all the players on the Canadiens these playoffs. Led defensemen in scoring in last years playoffs. Second most points for defensmen on the team this regular season and second highest +/- as well. So I guess being the second best defensemen (in terms of statistics) means you are useless. Is that Mike or Brad Richards? Because if that's Brad Richards, then you are crazy to think as a UFA he'd take a 1.3mil paycut when the cap is rising between 4-6 million after finishing over a point per game for the second straight season. He might take 6.5 over 10 years, but not a chance in heck over only 3 years (not even to win a cup since he already has won one). And if that's Mike Richards, he's the captain of the Flyers and now way they ever get rid of him.

First playoff match-up set: Caps vs. Rangers

I understand Lundy is a top 5 goalie in the league, but how the hell did the rags make the playoffs?

    Big TV, Big Cap

Mursak has a lot of potential, Emmerton is a replaceable 4th liner who, through injuries, never got close to his potential. I'd agree with Mursak+Tatar > Draper + Hudler going forward, but no way in hell Mursak + Emmerton > Draper + Hudler is better going forward.
