Crosby for being the "next" great thing cannot even show up in the SCF. Zett is his shadow and is winning the battle. How can people say Crosby is the "next" Great one? I though Z did a great job last night.... Malkin was looking for Z because of how Z is shutting down Malkin's boyfriend Crosby. The Wings are in side the heads of Crosby - Malkin - MAF now. This series is over. Pens believed all their own hype, that this year was different, this year they could do it, this year would be their year. Then the Red Wings showed them how to play SCF hockey. Again. I think the Wings need to charge for these lessions this time around.

Nope, I am not underwhelmed by Leino. he is playing like a rookie in the Cup finals. Remember the Pens last year. He is playing well defensively and is creating offense, what more can you ask for? He is not making mistakes that cost the team and is getting great experience for his years to come.

I am not nervous at all..... The Wings find a way to win hockey games in the playoffs. They just fine different ways to win games. No matter what happens during the game or who is injured, they still find ways to Win. We have not been outplayed this series, they have played better at certain times then the Wings but have not controlled the games. Maybe a period or a few shifts. The Wings look like a better team, in both games, they looked better.

My points have nothing to do with the Cups... All my points are valid since Stevie Y started playing.

I have been telling my roommate all week that Dats is not hurt, Babs is sitting him due to lack of production. This is something that Babs would do to show that even superstars have to be productive to play on the Wings. I could be wrong but something tells me a shot to the foot, if not broken would not keep Dats out of the playoffs considering Stevie Y played on one leg and Stevie Y is in the front office and you know dam well he is in the locker room before and after games.

Lol its not the Penguins organization is the Wings Organization that draws them to us. Every player in the NHL wants to play for a smart, winning Organization and there is none better then Detroit. We have the Owner who is willing to do anything it takes to put a winning team on the ice. We have the GM that is God or Gods right hand man that can get contract done with some nice hockeytown discounts. We have the coach that knows when to push and when to back off the players, knows what it takes to win and is not above yelling at star players that are not playing welling. We have the players that are willing to do whatever it takes to win, I do mean anything. We have the history to show that we are a winning team and we have Stevie Y in our front office, who can still proved leadership from the press box during games.

Okay Mr. The cup is half empty. The Wings are deep, we have enough young guys to keep up with the Pens.... In fact Helm will be the fastest guy on the ice again in this series and is playing like he wants to earn an MVP award. I just do not believe that the Pens can beat us 4 games out of 7.... I just cannot see that happening,,, maybe I am wearing my red tinted glasses but I just do not see it. The Pens are good, Crosby and Malkin are great players BUT the Wings have proven they can shut down anyone in the playoffs. And Ozzie, well Ozzie will prove yet again that he is an elite goalie and should be in the Hall of Fame.

I am feeling the same way,,, I just do not see how the Pens will win.... I just cannot see them beating the Wings in a 7 game series.... Sure I can see them winning a game or 2 but not 4. We will see on Saturday but I thing the Wings want the cup just as much or more then the Pens. The Wings always do well when they have a player they are trying to win it for... IE Drake last year.... Vladdy a few years back...Hossa this year. I think Hossa will be a monster in this series with everything in the world to prove to himself not to mention the Pens. Make no mistake about it, Hossa needs to prove to himself he made the right choice. I do not think this will be an easy series but I just cannot help thinking that if Detroit comes out and smokes the Pens in Game 1 this will be a short series. (smoke = 5 or more to 1 or lower)

If the Wings come out and smoke them in Game 1 like 5 or 6 to 1 or 0. The pens will lose all confidence in there game.... If the Pens keep game one close then it will be a long series. Its as simple as that.... The Pens have a lot of Confidence right now but I do believe it is something that Detroit can take away with a huge win in Game 1.

I am sorry but they have not faced the Wings who have the best net presents of any team in the NHL. No team can match that part of Detroits game, we have 3 solid guys that can play very well in front the other teams net. Homer, Mule and Cleary. The Pens do not have an answer for them and Flurey has not had to deal with as much traffic as he is going to see in this series. That will be the key here, Fluery might be playing well but he will have to deal with so much more traffic then he has seen from the East.

Serously both of you are right, both reasons are the reason they almost lost their team. After Mario left, the fans left, after Sid got drafted the fans came back. At Pens Fans Detroit is HockeyTown not only because of the Red Wings but because of all the Hockey leagues in this state, from little kids to pros and everything in between. I know this, I lived in Michigan my whole life, I grew up playing hockey in the Little Ceasers league. I started playing hockey at age 5. I now live in Colorado due to work but I still watch every Wings game I can. I still play hockey when I can. See what you do not understand is that Hockey is like a religion in Michigan. That is why we are Hockeytown. That is why we love our Wings. Hockey is in our blood. You guys may play little league football or baseball, we play HOCKEY.

I would have loved to see Boston and that is what I was hoping for but the Pens are good too. I am not worried about the Pens but I know it will be a good series unless the Wings smoke them in game 1, then it will be a short series. The Wings need the Captain back (Nick) and we will be okay... Sure I want Dats back too but I would much rather have Lidstrom back. I think that the series will be alot better then most Wings fans are willing to admit but logic says that Wings will win again. Pens are not that much different then last year, they lost alot of the playoff "grit" players they had last year.

While I agree with you and the other Wings fans.... Stats are not the end all be all on judging a player. Stats are one way to judge them but not the final word on the matter. Perfect example is Howe vs Gretzky Howe is the better all around hockey player while Gretzky has better stats..... Again I think Howe is the best hockey player ever due to him not only scoring but also fighting and doing the dirty little things in the corners to create the scoring.

Cool, love euchre... most people outside of Michigan have no idea what that is. I live in Longmont, so I will try to make the game tonight but might just watch it at home and go to the bar for the SCF games.

Yea Lidstrom is playing great but that is what I expect from him... he is after all the best DefenseMan in Hockey. Cleary stepped up huge this playoff year... So I pick him as our MVP The Mule, well this is what we as wings fan expect out of this super human this time of year.

Both the Wings and the Hawks got away with alot of stuff last night. It was a good game. I think that the Hawks out played us pretty much all game but Detroit as a team never gives up and is always clam and collected. Nothing seems to rattle these guys. To all the Hawk fans: You have a great team and should be very proud of them and their season. I hope that this is the start of a good Hawks run. I really really do. I would love to see the Hawks make the playoffs year after year. As a hockey fan, any original six team doing well is good in my book. This year you will learn what it takes to win in the playoffs. Sure you won the first 2 rounds but rounds 3 and 4 are a different animal. I wish you guys the best of luck and I cannot way to see you guys again in the playoffs next year but this year the Wings got it. To all the Wings Fans: Lets not count out the hawks just yet but yes I agree the Wings have not played well in 2 games and keeps finding a way to win. I think our Wings will bring the Cup back home again.... We all know that Lord Stanley loves living in Detroit. (this is for me as well, I keep counting the Hawks out but we all know its the playoffs and anything can happen) Seriously though I do not want to play the stupid Pens again.... Its the same team without Hossa. It will be the same outcome. The pens are not as good without Hossa. Sure Hossa is not playing up to his normal standards but he is playing well defensively and that works for me as long as our secondary scoring keeps it up.
