Once the Goalie makes the first save it is up to the Defense to control the other players. Yes the goalie needs to try and control their rebounds, but rebounds are going to happen to every goalie every game, no matter how good they are. Dom played it the best he could have, their is nothing he should have changed, the guys in front of Dom need to change the way they played that. Dom took away the easy jam in the rebound play, but Cheechoo had all day in front of the net, any time you can drag the puck across the crease without being hit is way too much time. Everything after the first shot is up to the Defense. Defense needs to clear the front of the net, knock down bodies.

Why are most of the people who are on this board so negitive? Why do you have to blame players and coachs? Why cant you for San Jose who took the play to Detroit in the 3rd period? San Jose played better then the wings the last 30 minutes of Game 3. San Jose came out with a Win. It was a great game all around, yes the Wings can play better, yes the Ref's sucked ass. but lets give credit were credit is due.... San Jose Sharks outplayed the Detroit Red Wings in Game 3 in San Jose. There I said it. I though Wings fans were also Hockey fans, but I am proven wrong over and over on this board. Its always the same s***. Blame him, or him or him or them or this or that, never give the other team props. Yesterdays Game was a solid Hockey game, Great playoff goals, great hits, alot of chances at both ends, a few plays that could have changed the game hitting the Post, a few questionable calls on both sides, a few missed calls for both sides, all in all a great Playoff hockey game, yes MY Team LOST, it sucks, but it happens, sometimes the Wings win those close games and sometimes they loss them. We all need to stop blaming other people and focus on the positive points of the next game. Hommy will be back, The wings power play scored a goal, the Wings played a great road game up into the 3rd period. Honestly how many times have the Wings been out played in the 3rd period this Year? Once, Twice maybe... Normally we are so strong in the 3rd peroid. Lets Face it, This San Jose Team is one of the best Teams the Wings have faced all year.. They smoked our inter league rivials. They are getting more and more confedence againts a team that can make you feel stupied. I have every confidence that Detroit will Win the Series. But what is Amazing about the game of Hockey is that no matter what team is playing what team, any given night any team can loss. That is what makes Hockey, Hockey everyone has a chance to Win from the drop of the Puck.

Your way off here. Flat out Wrong. This is not about Hasek committing or not committing or if Cheechoo out waited Dom or not. This is simply WERE was the Defense? The Goalie, regardless of hockey league is responisable for the 1st shot, the rebound is the defense's responisable, Cheechoo should not have had that much time, he should have been knocked on his can as soon as he touched the puck. Now if a wings Defensive man would have hit cheechoo right as he got the rebound, all Cheechoo could have done was shoot the puck, which Hasek was in the perfect spot to stop. Because the Wings did not CLEAR the front of the net after the 1st shot, Cheechoo was allowed the time to make a perfect play and beat Hasek. If you give any goal scorer time in front of the net like that, he will score more times then not, Hasek is not even close to the reason Cheechoo Scored, it was the Players in front of Dom that let him down. Ask anybody that knows hockey, The Goalie is responisable for the 1st shot on Goal and then any Rebounds become the responisable of the Defensive players on the Ice.

How quickly you forget the person that setup the game winner in Game 2. Hmmm maybe you should go watch Game 2 over again and see how Sammy played?. He has played well in this series. He is a solid player.

I dont disagree with you at all, but I am getting sick of reading posts after every loss about how X player sucks and needs to be benched or Y Goalies sucks. It shows ZERO class and ZERO knowledge of hockey. The people that make those kind of post or those kind of comments get Zero respect from me because they dont know a thing about hockey. Hockey is not about fancy goals, huge saves, crazy hot Power Plays. Hockey is about the small things, the battle for the puck in the corner, finishing your check, making smart plays, winning a faceoff. If you know Hockey, then you would have seen alot of great plays that were just a few inchs or a few miss steps away from breaking that hockey game wide open. I dont know how many times during Game 3, I was like "okay okay, nice idea, good play, just get it on net, or nice work, nice pressure but you didnt get a shot, need to work that puck back to the middle. Its the SMALL things that are missing right now. There is a huge difference in being a Wings Fan and saying your a Wings fan. A true Wings Fan watched game 3 and though, Dam a few inchs here or a an extra step there and the Wings win, they seem to be just one step behind, in each of the first 3 game, the Wings seem just a little behind the play, the puck was just behind or infront of them. The posts, the wasted shot that missed the net, the extra pass to make a perfect goal. That is the issue right now, the Wings are just not in sync, I dont know why, I cant tell you that they are going to fix it. The funny thing is that the Wings are still in the Series even though they are not playing their best hockey. San Jose looks like a team on a mission and the Wings seem like they are Happy with a medium effort game.

Ahh yes he didnt help the Wings get the Game Winner in game 2, So sorry that is not good enough for you. Geez how could a NHL player not score every shift, I mean come on he is a Pro Hockey player, what is his problem. Leave and dont let the Joe Louis door hit you on the way out.

He has good hands, a solid shot and great play making skills. He is a big body that can cause problems in the offensive zone, he can play either Winger or Center. He has a cannon on the point for the power play, he can score, he can grind it out in the corners. He plays very good Defense. Yes Sammy can play better then what we have seen out of him in the playoffs but rememeber he was injuryed earlier in the year and my not be 100% back into games. Sometimes it takes awhile for a player to come back from his first major injury because he doesnt want to get hurt again so he doesnt take the same chances he did before the injury, the only way to get over something like this is time. Mikael Samuelsson is a smart hockey player, he adds a scoring touch with great defensive play and a large body. He is what the Red Wings need. Size, speed and hands for a winger. Please look for a new team to root for. You and all your Lang Sammy and now Hasek and Babcock haters need to leave the Wings Fan Bandwagon, We simply dont have room for you fair weather fans.

Most of the people on this Board are a Joke and should not call themselfs Wings Fans. If the Wings win its all OMG we are the best, we rock, nobody can beat us... but if we lose, half of you start hating players, their is even a post on how Babs is not a good Coach. The Wings need a better effort, they started to give pucks away in their own end, they failed to clear the puck when they had the chance, it was alot of little things that the Sharks did right. Yes the Refs were bad last night, the Sharks got away with alot of Interface and some Hooking calls. The Wings got a few bad calls on them. Berts at the end of the game was questionable, yes his skate was around the other guys skate but they were battleing for position for a puck and Bert won, it should not have been called, it is part of hockey. It was not even close to Dom's Fault. Your Goalie is responisable for the first shot, after the First shot, it is up to your Defense to clear the net. It is not your goalies fault when they score on the second and third shots. Most of people on these boards need to look at the mirror and ask if they are true Red Wing Fans because some of you are not and need to move on. We dont want your stupied asses here.

Anyone else smelling Cleary as the playoff MVP? Wings will press the issue in game 3, alot less mistakes, alot more chances and a good 60 minutes of hockey tonight from our boys. The first 5 minutes the wings will . Go Wings. Go Wings Go Wings Go Wings The Wings are at themselfs for their play in the first 10 minutes of both home games

I dont know why but I am smelling a blow out tonight followed by a close series. First Score that comes to mind is 7 - 0 but I dont know. Look for the Wings to get something going very very early in this game

Again I am going to say that, If the Wing would have gotten a goal they would have easly tied and forced overtime. It was just getting that first , that would have been the spark. Look for the Wings to come out with more Energy and step there game up. Seriously Detroit was one step, one shot, one pass, one inch from winning that game. Maltby hit the post on a 40 foot shot, with no screen, the Wings just didnt get the breaks or the bounces..... No excuse I know but It was not the Sharks that beat Detroit yesterday, it was Detroit. Bad Turn overs, Their timing was off, slow puck movement, lack of energy were the reason for the lost. Dont get me wrong San Jose played a solid game but I dont think they were all that great, I though they sat back alot and didnt force the issue. I think that a team like Detroit will go into the Locker after the game yesterday and say, We played well, we didnt create enough chances and we didnt play solid in our end and made sloppy plays. Detroit can easy fix the problems that cause them to lose Game 1, look for the Wings to come out flying on Saturday and jump out to a big lead early. Wings still in 6 or 5

See I have to Disagree, San Jose sat back alot after their 2 goal lead, All it would have took yesterday was a cheap goal for Detroit and Detroit wins the game. Detroit put pressure on San Jose the whole second part of the game. Detroit had their chances and just didnt finish, they had a lot of pressure, just never turned it into anything. The Power Plays were pretty good, the block shots are killing us, but If you watch the first Detroit PP then you will see the samething I saw, the wings were hitting shalfs of sticks, outside of gloves. When the wings are on their game, that kind of stuff doesnt happen, Dont get me wrong, San Jose played a great game, I though they forced the wings into doing stuff faster then they wanted to. My point is that Detroit more or less gave San Jose that game, the turn overs and the lack of energy cost the game, not how good San Jose played or didnt play. Detroit was the better team last night for 50 of the 60 minutes. If Detroit can get those "playoff Goals", the ones that dont look pretty then they will win the series.

They played a great game. I think that is the best the Sharks could do and I think that Detroit can play much better, we have seen better games out of our guys last series. Dont get me wrong, the Sharks played a solid game, they keep detroit to the outside, they made it really hard to go though the middle of the ice. I still have all the confidence in the world for the Wings, Like I said, I dont see the Sharks playing much better then they did in Game 1 and I though Detroit carried the play for 50 minutes and that other then the first 10 minutes (24 seconds) the Wings played a soild game. On the 9 - 4 game that everyone keeps bring up. Lets remember that we chased out Nabokov way before they chased out Hasek. Keep that in mind when you bring oup the 9 - 4 lose. Nabokov was pulled after 12 shots and 3 goals, then the Sharks came back. You should not be dreading this seires for 2 main reasons. 1. Playoffs are won by Defense and Goaltending. Defense - has to go to the Wings hands down. Goaltending - Hasek vs Nabokov - personally I would take Hasek over Nabokov. Most of the NHL would take Hasek over Nabokov. I know that the Flames would take Kippersolf (?) over Nabokov even before last series. 2. Home Ice - Detroit is amazing on home Ice. They dont lose alot at home. The Sharks HAVE to win one in Detroit. Just my 2 Cents
