Road weary is a lot less inflammatory than saying overrated. That team certainly is not as good as the number of "stars" they had in the "All Star" game.
-
With your forum and signature picture I think you have a little bias going on there
-
I'm sure the first 3 minutes were about A-Rod or Favre, maybe they even squeezed them both in.
-
Now that you mentioned it, I do seem to recall at least one story of Belfour pulled over for drunk driving and trying to pay off the officer that pulled him over. Yeah, I guess he really was a giant d-bag.
-
Why are you hating on Eddie the Eagle? The Wings got into his head almost every single game.
-
Quoted you anyway but you are right. For 2 of those Jason Terry says essentially the same thing except sub in three for assist and miles for kilometers.

I've gone from the "I can't stand Sammy" to the "I don't particular care for him" category. He has been pretty decent considering the role he plays and the money he makes. If we had not gotten Hossa I would have pretty much guaranteed Sammy would be resigned again for no other reason than you already know what he can do and you can't say that for someone else you might try to sign for relatively cheap. I'm still not ruling out his return, he just might choose to accept less money to stay. I don't think he'd get a much better offer from any other team. I did have a watchful eye on him during last year's playoff run and I have to say he did play pretty well.

That one seems odd since my first thought was, "wait, people are showing up for the games?" I know they say ticket sales have been higher this year but every game on tv you can see a sizable number of empty seats. When I've gone to a few the fans for the most part have been rather listless. The playoffs are a whole 'nother story.

Chevrier was a backup to Tim Cheveldae for a bit. I remember them being called Team Chevy.

Yep, me too. Having to watch anything in analog makes me sad. FSN HD is pretty good but the big networks really have it kickin'. I'm not sure if there really is a difference, just seems like it. Trying to watch Hockey Night in Canada is torture for the eyes.

This is not a criticism of your comment, just a general thought. Who in the hell would buy anything "autographed" from eBay anyway? I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who can replicate signatures.
-
That sucks but I would understand the reasoning. Someone's head getting slammed to the ice with a helmet on is scary enough. I love it when 2 guys square off and they each remove their helmets and gloves as they get ready to throw punches. That is the pinnacle of an honorable hockey fight.

Wings to Open 09-10 season in Stockholm, Sweden
Valas19 replied to Greatness=PavelDatsyuk's topic in General
Too bad it wasn't against the Rangers where Lundqvist could be showcased as well. Oh well, at least the NHL made the right no-brainer move with the Wings. -
I agree 100%. Every Saturday I open up the sports page and look at the little section of who is signing autographs and where and just look at the prices. Last one that made me shake my head was $75 for a flat item. I don't remember the player but that is insane unless it is stated that ALL proceeds go to charity then it isn't such a bad idea.

Can you imagine the coroner investigating that one? Cause of death? Samuelsson

Convincing arguments from both sides. I have been on the fence leaning toward Luongo but now I'm leaning toward the the other way. The Wings may actually have the next Luongo or Lundqvist in the minors, they just haven't had the opportunity yet to prove it. That fact alone makes me favor using the money on a proven top D-man or forward and gamble that one of our goalies actually proves to be a solid or even all star caliber player. Out of curiousity, does anyone know how much of a top prospect Steve Mason of Columbus was? That guy is incredible!

For the same reason you don't need to promote college basketball down in North Carolina or SEC college football down south. The market is already there, no further need to try and expand your base of what is already your base.
-
The Lions are going to win a Super Bowl before the Wings win another Cup.

Maybe they are afraid the jersey sales will plummet. I couldn't believe how many people were wearing the new Reebok McCarty jerseys I saw last year at the Joe.
-
This may have been the best title of a topic yet.
-
Fixed.
-
Any Big Lebowski references always make me burst out laughing.
-
Maybe they want to lead the league in penalty minutes.
-
I think I would buy that jersey just out of general principle.
