I lol'd
-
If only we'd do this with Darren McCarty.
-
LOL! Ahhh..this wins the post of the day!
-
If Hossa hits the 100pt mark it will be a heck of a lot tougher to find the money to resign him
-
That right there sums up Osgood's early career. Hopefully he can adjust like Ozzy has and if so, we'll be just fine.
-
I second that or third it, I guess.
-
Nomad? 4th team in 4 years not that I'm gonna complain about being the 4th team.
-
Judging by the hostility of talking smack about McCarty, I'd probably say this is Mac posting as his LGW alias.
-
Let's go for the Pittsburgh hat trick and sign Laraque.
-
How does Ville Leino fit into all of this? From what I've read if he doesn't make the NHL roster he can return to Finland whenever he pleases.
-
That is my favorite, too. Got a good full minute laugh out of me.
-
Maybe he'll just pull a Selanne/Niedermeyer/Forsberg like last year and sit out for awhile and wait to see which team looks like a true contender or is a comfortable fit (and still has money to burn).
-
I think the Islanders signing Rick DiPietro to a 15 year deal is pretty absurd. I don't think the salary figures were outrageous but for that length of time is insane.
-
I think Mark Messier got quite a big contract and the promise of a front office spot when he went to Vancouver. As I remember it, it didn't go too well. Hopefully Sundin takes that into consideration.
-
As long as he doesn't open up a chain of donut/coffee shops around North America. Then again, Finger Holes sounds pretty funny, more so than TimBits.
-
Who the hell is Jeff Finger?? I know my players pretty well and I can honestly say I've never heard of the guy. Is this an alias of someone who actually is a good player?
-
I image that the way D-men are always in high demand that the devil they know is better than the devil they don't know. They have their point man on the power play locked up.
-
His offensive numbers from last year suggest yes but who knows if he can put up those numbers again. 18 goals and 38 assists ain't too shabby though paying that much for a 1 breakout year is risky.
-
Sakic has been one of my favorites even through the rivalry years because he is so much like Steve Yzerman, even has the same number. I will be almost as upset as the day The Captain called it a career when Joe hangs up the skates. If he splits to another team it just won't seem right. I can't see that happening. He's been with the same organization his whole career.

I don't see Emery as a guy who'd quietly sit back and be ok with the role of backup. Maybe at first but it would come out eventually. The only backup I want to see here is Jimmy Howard. End of story.
-
It's hard to believe he would make that switch. That's about as bad as Johnny Damon going from the Red Sox to the Yankees or that Michigan player going over to Ohio State. I still can't believe that guy made that switch. I hope he breaks his leg in his first game (not Sundin, I like Sundin).
-
Think we can convince him to play for $3 milliion per year less? My Magic 8 Ball says "No"
-
Sundin could pull what Selanne and Kariya did a few years back with Colorado and sign 1 year deals for dirt cheap (relatively speaking) for a shot at the Cup. I would LOVE it is Sundin came here if only for a year.

And I quote Kid Rock when I say, "They say I'm cocky and I say "what?" It ain't braggin' motherf**ker if you back it up!"

That got a laugh out of me. As a guy its not as bad but women have it rough at sporting events, especially at the Joe. I went to Game 1 against the Avs with my sister and while I could get back to my seat with 5 minutes left during intermission my sister would miss the start of the period when we left to use the facilities at the end of the period. I know the economy is bad but ticket prices are just too high. $90 for a nosebleed seat!? It also doesn't help that playoff tickets are generally sold as a series and not individual games, at least it was last year. C'mon, Mr. I. There is no need to have ticket prices that high especially with a salary cap. Let's not forget that ticket prices were not lowered when the salary cap went into effect and I think that has left a sour taste in the mouths of many. As far as boring hockey goes, the Wings don't play the open style game like Montreal does flying up and down the ice giving away as many scoring chances as gaining them. The offense works on precision scoring and the defense shuts teams down hard. No, it may not look exciting but it is effective.
