That's how much a fairly upper-end pair of skates costs now. My understanding is that it's $400 for the blade/holder, which is installed on existing boots. The whole package is going to be a lot more than $400.

It's disappointing when you see a thread with a title like "Osgood's pads," or this one, that has all the potential to be completely ridiculous, and then it turns out to be serious. Flip-check: No offense is intended, I know it's not fair to compare anyone to sirdrake (in Neil Young-esque warble) ...it's better to burn out, than to fade away... But, just for the record, I don't think sirdrake has done either. He's still got a few aces up his sleeve.
