I completely and fantastically agree with these lines. *nods sympathetically* But WAIT, guys, we have Ferraro, so we can just inject him anywhere into the current lines that aren't working and expect this team to put up 5 and 6 goal games. Problem solved!

Cole has easily been one of the best forwards when he's on the ice. If you watched hockey you should recognize that.

Z was always a physical grinder and Dats was a world class calibre finesse player. I would've expected Dats to have a better twilight than Z. Even with his recognition, Dats' skill is still understated. Even when he's not scoring points, he's basically always owning and humiliating people. Throw Dats with Z because Z needs some help.

A big game versus Boston reminds me of last year's playoffs. So in that case, I am crossing my fingers and hoping. But with all the injuries, it seems unlikely we'll win tonight. But I will be a belieber! Because I still think this team is incredibly dangerous when they get rolling offensively. It could happen. Maybe Mrazek and the PK will be good so we have a chance for sure.

I'd say I'm happy we have Mrazek in net but it doesn't really matter if this team can barely even get a shot on goal in the shootout. We honestly need to wonder if they will get 3, 2, 1... or 0 SOG. Sorry to be so negative but this team sucks ass in the shot out.

Oh man, 7 minutes left in a 1-0 game. *Goes to the box score to see if Kindl is playing* I already know Ericsson is out there and he's a prime candidate to cough it up. But, with the way the defense has been playing, it could be Kronwall giving it away at this point. Pretty much the only Detroit defenseman I feel comfortable with is Zids, and he's the newest guy on the team!

Yeah, when the PK isn't working, Andersson and Miller have no business on this team. Jurco is still developing. Not really sure why you would even put Cleary on this line. It's not like he has the knees to actually open up the ice. They are basically setting him up for playing bad and losing confidwence so they can bench him again. If you really want to plug this line put in Pulks since he atleast has a shot and has the chance of doing SOMETHING

Has there been any pre-media coverage on why Babs started Mrazek? I thought for sure Howard would've gotten the start. Seems like a BIG deal that Detroit didn't start the "veteran"

Hammond is on the streak of a decade and there's Petr, out-dueling him in a goalie matchup with the shots nearly 1:3. This is the biggest game of the year and Mrazel stands tall and proud. What a performance! Love this kid!!

After tonight's game with SJ, we can confidently say that the team is in disarray and that they are playing terribly. Cole and Datsyuk are out but they may return soon. When they return, who sits? I think this is a hard question to answer because the obvious choices are playing well: Pulkinnen and Weiss. Knowing Babs, it's probably going to be Weiss and Jurco. Maybe it is hard to pick healthy scratches when the entire team is not playing with accountability. I do think playing Cleary is an option (something I'd like to see), but again, who can reasonably be scratched at this point? Curious to see all your thoughts.

He was so paramount in Detroit's cup run in 2008. I'll always remember his contributions. He earned my respect and he'll always have it. I wish his 2nd stint with Detroit turned out better. Butn eh, more of a management problem right there more than anything else. Thanks for the memories Mikael

Put Cleary in. I'm not kidding. He may not be able to skate, but he grounds the team, stabilizes them, gets super gritty in atmospheres like these, has good veteran leadership and can lead in the locker room. How many games has he played? 9? I'd just pay the dude a million and get him in there. Cleary's a winner late in the year and in the off-season. He's won a cup. Get the guy in and get one of these kids out. Just my opinion Also, Howard sucks, but I always say that so it doesn't really matter. Honestly, though, I didn't think he was that bad this game. The first goal was a tough redirect up high, and the one off the Detroit D in front of the net was weird. Neither were Howie's fault, and I blame him for everything! The other goal had a Shark right in the slot -- the best scoring area in hockey -- and he just banged it in. Again, not something that makes me think Howard sucks... but I still think Howard sucks. I think Mrazek getting the next start is to shake this team up, although Babcock did seem pretty harsh on 'ole Jimmy today. I'm hard on him most the time, but this game wasn't really one of them.

Nice goal. I've always felt Tootoo had speed, grit and hands. Still seems like he has a lot of unlocked potential. Just needs the night team and coaches.
