The simple fact is: It's not over and we're not out of it until the other team gets all 4 of their wins. Ideally, we would have taken both games in Aneheim, but coming home with a split was not the worst case scenario either. We were able to limit the shots on net, but unfortunately, most of their shots were also pretty good chances. We need the move those Ducks out from in front of Dom and get the puck out of our zone.

I knew watching him play for the Griffs (a benefit to being in GR) that he was going to be great. He reminded me of a Datsyuk with his stickwork and ability to strip pucks away from the opposition. Love watching him play!!!

Let the razzing begin: Received this email from my brother already, but then again, "his bulls" got eliminated tonight and the only Detroit team he cheers for is the Lions. "BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Coach Gordan Bombay was spoted at the Honda Center during last nights victory over the Detoriot Red Wings. He was seen running up and down the aisles with a duck call. The duck players must have seen this and this and immediatly started playing better. This leads leads to speculation that Coach Bombay will be at Joe Louis Arena during Sunday's game. It is rumored that he will drop Duck logo's over all the Red Wings logo's to pump up the ducks, and to show how the Ducks own the Red Wings in this series. It is also rumored that Hans gave the team a pep talk before the game and before the third period. Is he going to be the X-factor in this series? Only time will tell. Is this where the ducks grow their wings and learn how to fly? I think so, i think so. DUCKS WIN! DUCKS WIN!"

thought someone would catch that

Very nicely put. It was clear the Ducks were playing for their life - they came out with "it" and took the first goal.

WINGS IN SIX!!! It's been our style so far this post-season. I see NO reason for it to change! :octo:

It's how he plays coming off a 5-0 shutout that bothers me...too many "soft goals" and not enough clearing the guys out from his D is a bad 1-2 combo against us. The boys have some things to work on this weekend so they can come out and get back to their "A" game on Sunday. They didn't look horrible, but it just wasn't enough tonight.

Missing 5 on 3 opportunities was killer for me watcing the game. Not clearing their guys out from in front of Hasek was nerve-wracking to watch. Agree that this should have been our game to win, but unfortunately, we move on and start over and work for those last two wins. I hate to say it, but this could have been a turning point for the Ducks. Winning w/out Pronger and then riding the momentum with him back in the line-up back to Detroit...maybe the two days off will help us out. I still have faith in the Wings though!!! Our veteran team can take the next two!

Best of 3 series - we've been here the last two rounds and pulled through. Sunday is going to be EXCITING! Can't wait to scream loud and wave my towel at the Joe!! (and maybe Boo Pronger too!)

Trying to scare up a couple of tickets for tonight's game
redwingsgirl replied to Bad Vlad Forever's topic in General
No one that I know of on LGW has actually used this site, but many of us were thinking about trying it for Sunday's game. Prices drop the closer to game time, but of course, you need to give yourself enough time to actually get hte tickets and get to the game. Look for tickets that say ticketfast or emailed or try calling the customer service number if you have any questions: http://www.dailystubs.com/ResultsTicket.aspx?evtid=597463 Good Luck!!!!! -
I thought someone was looking for these baseball caps a few days ago, but I can't seem to find the original post. Found a link where you can buy online if you can't get to a store: http://store.thegoaliesden.com/servlet/-st...nglish-D/Detail

I just wonder why the coach would pull Giguere when they were "only" down 3 goals. Why not leave him in and let him try to redeem himself and possibly build confidence to start the next game. This move down only three goals makes me think that maybe Carlye was already thinking ahead to G4 and maybe start Bryz...

No need for us to sit in the box at that point, possible break a hand, or any other negative consequences that could have occured by retaliating at that point. Right now our goal and focus must be on the win and The Cup. Retaliation can come at the beginning of next season when there isn't so much on the line.

I think even with a couple of dumb penalties Kopecky took, he was better out there than Calder. Also, I read an interview with Calder who insisted he was not injured that the hand was just a rumor.

LET'S GO WINGS!!! Set us up to close it out on Sunday at home!!!!!! I'm predicting a close game 4-2 wings, with an open net at the end. -
While I can kinda see your point about the little hits causing serious injuries and some bigger hits not leaving a mark, you can't seriously think that Pronger should not get a suspension or fine or anything. Homer had someone higher looking out for him because that hit could have been so much worse of an injury than just a few stitches - it could have caused paralysis. Put your favorite player in Homers skates and your most loathed player in Prongers and replay that hit. Watch the feed on TSN.ca if you need to. You can't tell me that once you look at it without your "orange and black" glasses that you would think that hit was not worthy of a suspension.

I think this really depends on which perspective you are looking at this from. No one likes to hear the other team hyped up and bad things about thier team's play. I think that all fans have the tendency to highlight what they don't like to hear and then that sticks out in their mind. It's all a matter of perspecive and what color glass you have on. Which is why I LOVE being able to watch the game on FSN Detroit because then the announcers are wearing the same colored shades as me!

Prongers a goon - that's his game. He's known for it. Hopefully the leage officials get something right - flashbacks to the Calgary series where the only suspension was on the backup, never gonna play, goalie; and some fines to the team - big deal. I agree - if we go out looking for revenge, it'll knock us off our game and waste time that we should be putting the puck in the net. And it will cause us to take stupid penalites. Hit em on the scoreboard! Not to stick up for the Ducks fans, but I do wonder if they realized how bad it was when it first happened or if most of them even got a clear look at what happened from where they were sitting. Game 5 of the Calgary series, I think it was Cleary that just lost an edge and took a bad spill in front of the bench. Fans were yelling like crazy for penalties just because our guy was down and I know the ppl sitting around me (not too far up from behind the benches) didn't see exactly what had happened because we were all asking! Just throwing something else out there...

Just saw the Homer/Pronger crash again on slow-motion and Homer's helmet FLEW off! I have one of his game used helmets (and yes, I put it on when I got it) and it is very small. I'm surprised at how quickly it comes off!

Thorton and May both in game 4 against Minn and that's it for Anaheim.

I saw that too!!!

Keep reading - the rest of hte Ducks fans on that board are appalled by that statment and agree is it a classless statement. There are some Wings fans that would say the same thing, but the majority is against that kind of play.
