A goaltending change (like bringing in a guy brand new from today) would kill the team, we'd be out in the first round, a goal is like a pitcher in baseball, they are the focus of a lot of the teams chemistry...its not like the video games where you take anyone and put them anywhere, you need the people to work together and get along, ever wonder why when Emery went wild Ottawa went off the deep end?

I couldn't agree more with everyone here, the grindline was one of my favorites prelockout but now, when they are together they don't have what they did when they were all 6-8 years younger, and it shows, id rather give the kids a chance to prove themselves then letting him vindicate himself.

good game by the sharks but, the stars though played better in my opinion, I have seen this type of game before in Detroit in years past.... Winning games they shouldnt win.... Not going to say they are on the way to a losing streak, but if it happened i wouldnt be surpirsed

I think he'll get it this year, the people who decide know their hockey and know lids.. ..PS I wont say it will be a run away but I really see the Lids taking it for atleast the next 2 years cause hes still the best in the game.

definately retarded to not use huds in a game to get helm in, huds is 1000x what helm is, he may not be 'gritty' but helm's up side is nothing compared to hudlers' upside. If anyone is going to set is kopecky or maltby, someone who is more likely to have more downside then helm does. In the playoffs while shutdown forwards are great, you can also never have enough scoring.

Only time i dont like AO is when he taunts the other team in an off the wall manner (his wave to crosby) theres a line where sportsmenship and showmenship are the same and where its just over the top, 90% of the time AO shows both, but he unforunetly is more likely to lose the sportsmenship to be more of a showmen and it should be the oppiste.

Want to know why i started it? cause its fun to see the 2 biggest NHL egos clash and act like children...I mean why not? I dont hate either really, but would love to see them on my team, but i think they both acted like fools in this, crosby hitting him behind the play cause he knows he'll get away with it, and AO making fun of him to screw with him and knowing itll make him do it. I think they both need to get over themselves and play like Pasha or Z.

What would happen to the wings if tomorrow they lost Raffy and Lids? Think we would have such a great offense without them on our line in the PP and ES?

See the game day thread But I will tell you my point of view He was typical Howard, he let in 2 soft goals and has shown why the management doesnt have much confidence in him at this point. He is too streaky in the AHL (look at any prospect report on him to back up this statement) to ever make a great NHL goalie and from what I can tell hes going to be a suckier version of Manny Legace. I personally vote the Wings dump him now for whatever they can get, and use Larsson and McCollum next season in the AHL and retain Conklin next season for the NHL team
