Currently leading the Griffins in scoring, tied for lead in goals, and currently 11th in the AHL in scoring, his transition to NA has been pretty smooth.

Isn't there a fantasy forum for this kind of stuff?

I assumed the buyout he was referring to was the amnesty buy out before next season, which would be the season of his 35th year. As such, it would be a great time to release the team from a long term liability that isn't going to be getting magically better.

Hossa wasn't a player that went from a bubble energy player to a superstar in one season. He had a many productive seasons, and even when not producing was a premier two way forward. Franzen when he's not producing is invisible, and aside from a couple playoffs and 2008, he's nothing special. And as I said before, he's 35 in 2014, and most players not named Jagr age that well.
-
Lets ignore the fact that he's got a track record a mile wide of being streaky, and that he was on pace for a whooping 24 goals, and realize he's going to be 35 next season, has a track record of injury and is on the downside of the normal career curve.

No love for Teemu Pulkkinen? He's doing great his first season in NA.

Okay, and? I hate to break it to you, but the team that has the most goals at the end of the game wins. This team's offense is anemic beyond anyone not wearing the numbers 13 or 40. The first game the Wings actually looked good in was last night against Dallas and that was because Z came in and went beast mode. Shut him and Dats down, or worse, the highly likely event one of them get injured and this time goes through the easiest part of their schedule and lose ground...

Detroit isn't an elite team. They are literally middle of the pack, at 15th out of 30 teams in league. I say go for bust and line up for the McDavid lottery. I am not down on Howard, but, people either severely over rate him or underrate him. He's a Chris Osgood, not a Manny Legace or a Hasek. He's going to be pretty good most of the time, great sometimes, but, beyond that a product of the team that's in front of him.

There is no reason for Abdelkader on the 2nd line when Tatar is out scoring him with less games. But, I did always imagine Babcock as a child spending hours trying to jam a square peg into a round hole.

Defense depleted by injury? That's Brett Lebda music! -
Commodore anyone?

It was a gratuitous hit that has no place in this game, and I demand a lifetime ban, and a compensatory draft pick for Detroit for this ugly callous hit that has no place in the game!

More of a punishment to have to keep Quincey in the lineup than to suspend him.

A player with no history of anything more than a bruise on the knee all of the sudden tweaks his knee after a series of games where he's been sub-par at best. And its so happens that it's so bad while there is no indication or MRI or anything they are scratching him and calling up a Mrazek over 24 hours before the game. To me this screams 'he needs a couple days to sort out his head before they can try playing him again' move.
-
I think by injured they mean 'he's on the shelf but don't want the media to know'.
-
That grade is called 'Lebda' at least for defensemen, its the lowest possible grade for a player you secretly suspect only stayed in the NHL so long by virtue of having really good dirt on someone important.
-
Drop the grade for Howard to a C+/C. Z is an A+, up until this injury he was on pace for one of his best seasons, and all accounts say hes been a great leader. Might bump Bert up to a solid B, for what he is he's played great. Quincey is a D-, might not seem much different, but. hes been bad, he hasn't been Lebda.
-
I'd add Jarnkrok, he's playing well, his only flaw his he's really weak, especially his lower body and is easily knocked off the puck. If he can do like Z did and really get his lower body up to snuff, he could really be a great top-6 player.
-
The answer is only when there is real intent to do great bodily harm. Hockey is a fast game, s*** happens, sometimes you move your body one way and what you intended to be a shoulder to shoulder hit turns into a high hit to the head. There really has to be clear intent... or else we will have soccer on ice.
-
I hope those aren't the lines, the 2nd line wouldn't be a 3rd line on most teams, and maybe not even a 4th line on some.
-
Have you seen him in GR? He needs another year at least, he's still too small for the NHL, and needs to fillout his frame or he will make Hudler look like Bertuzzi in his prime.

Injured Danny DeKeyser out 3-6 weeks with separated shoulder, LTIR

They would have to take Cleary, and Sammy, and no give backs. -
One problem skippy, those stats tell you nothing, take out outlier games by Franzen where he scored 4-5 goals in one game and then add in Hossa being in a different league defensively and Hossa is the better deal by a country mile.
