As others have said, good list, but McCarty isnt top ten.
-
Sheahanstrom, hes a swede.
-
Sheahan a euro now? It now makes a perfect sense why the wings drafted him! Hes a secret euro.
-
LOL you got Rostislav Olez for him, his contract is so much worse, after last season when he regressed majorly he is over 3 million dollars worth of useless player. Florida clearly won that trade, getting close to the cap floor, getting a pretty good offensive D man in the process and Chicago lost his point production, even if it was expensive. Chicago may have gotten some cap space freed they have seriously regressed defensively and offensively. As for quality depth, 7 players and 13 million in cap hit, needing a good back up, a #3 defenseman, and two top 6 forwards? I still don't see the Hawks coming into this season much better than they were last season.

Fixed for you

These last two years have been really damned exciting for the Wings when it comes to the draft. Its nice to see a mix of risk and reward.

Old lady: I'm not an old lady, I'm Brian Burke, and I was just trying to find out where the bathroom is!
-
Jurco is a good pick up at 35
-
Classes trade by San Jose, Devin the Diver to the Wilds for Burns (plus prospects and picks)
-
Rather have Harrison than the other two purely because of the age issue, but all would make fine 6/7 defensemen.

http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=44973 TSN has Mayfield at 46, this ranking is a composite of 10 NHL scout's rankings. Oscar Klefbom is ranked in the 20s, hes big, good vision, good leadership, only weakness is his skating, but from all I have heard about him he would be a mid risk high reward pick at 24.
-
I do too, it all depends on what other teams do and who Holland targets for his defensive replacements. If he throws a lot of money that way the Forward lines will be close to last year, if he can get some good contracts, I can see him adding up front as well.
-
This is a lot more realistic number-wise, but still a pipe dream. I would love this team, it has a good combination of youth and vets, and I think it has the parts needed for a long playoff run, but again I won't hold my breath.

Are you high or just slow? Letting Eaves walk would be a horrible move no matter how you cut it. Also if Bieksa takes less than 4 million to come to the wings ill sing your praises on youtube as the great prophet of our time. I just can't see him taking less than 4.5 million. Also those won't be the lines, if the wings get that deep on skilled wingers, Flip will be the third line center, Z will be second line.
-
If not included ESPN is reporting its 1 year 6.2 million: http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/id/9422/faceoff-lidstrom-is-coming-back-but-red-wings-now-need-to-find-him-help

If arbitration fails doesnt he become a UFA? (IE numbers don't match and team passes?)
-
That is even worse though.. one year I could see Parise getting 5-6 million. They have about 9-10 million in cap space and need 5 players including Parise.
-
If either goes to arbitration they will get a hefty raise and a few years, New Jersey is in cap hell, so they will do anything not to reach that point.
-
The only way it happens is if he spends 70+ games on Dats' wing, if hes the dedicated second line center, no way he'll do it.
-
I honestly don't see him breaking 50 points.
-
Well, if he's peaked why isn't he good trade bait?
-
I don't thin Flip is going to break 50pts a season, hes too hot/cold. So counting on him to pick up a lot of both of their slack is a bit out there.
-
I love both these players and hate to see them go, two more players from the amazing wings teams of the late 90s/early 00s are gone.. but if Holland think its better for them to not be retained next season and to explore other options in their place, its his decision. Thank you Ozzie and Drapes for your years of service to the team, to the city and to the fans!

Freak accidents happen?

If he comes cheap like the articles are saying, this would not be a bad addition to the Wings, especially with Draper not being resigned and Emmerton being such a huge question mark.
