iFlip I would say is 99% chance an AHL player for life, hes good, but, it really seems that the Wings Org has him low on the depth chart and see him more as a veteran presence in the AHL, which as I keep saying is not a horrible thing, having an older Euro there to help the kids adjust and get use to the NA game and life is something the wings really have needed. As for Modo next year, I say save the cash and make a run at Brad Richards.

When hes hot hes a lock for the top two lines, but when he goes milk carton for a handful of games the third line is a good place for him. But great to see the watch thread mojo working for Flipper especially with Hudler and Datsyuk down. I hope he keeps this up, the teams a lot more dangerous when he decides to play like this.
-
Quality minutes are 5 on 5 minutes against other teams top two lines.
-
He really doesn't log many quality minutes, most of the quality minutes are logged by the first two lines, so him being +12 doesn't mean too much.

Nephritis=Urinary tract infection that reached the Kidneys... It sucks, but in any country with decent medical care its a few days of suck and then youre good as new. If his team is still in the playoffs in a week he will be back with them. This isn't horrid, he will recover and be perfectly fine.
-
I don't think he's a true second line center, I think in reality hes a poor man's Jordan Staal at this point.
-
fixed it for you But in seriousness, why not make the boards out of nerf and the glass out of saran wrap? That'll soften things up a lot. I think that this is just a way to do nothing in the guise of actually have done something. I won't hold my breath that any real improvements will be made until after I see what they decide and what the results are.

On the other side it was a pretty good defensive play by Letang to stop a break away without taking a penalty.
-
I think 3 players are the make or break players for the wings in the post season: Jiri Hudler Niklas Kronwall Valtteri Filppula if these three players are playing at the level we all know they can, than the wings are one of if not the deepest team in the league, but if they aren't playing their games than the wings become a lot more one dimensional and won't have as good a chance to go deep. We all know Filppula can be pretty unstoppable when hes hot, but the key to his future in Detroit is his slumps, when he slumps he just disappears and it sometimes is for a long period (10-15 games) and that puts a lot of pressure on Z and D to do all the producing, and any decent playoff caliber team will go out of their way to put their best D-men and shut down forwards on them. I would feel a lot better about the Wings' chances this post season if these three players and especially Flip come into it hot.

I just got back from the game as well (had to drive 2 hours to get back, but such is life). I thought the wings in spite of slow start really pulled it together and played a good game. I enjoyed myself quite abit especially when the oiler fans two rows behind me got kicked out of the Joe.

I will be in 227
-
I will be there. Can't wait. I'm 11-0-2 so far, so lets keep the streak going.
-
If he finishes where hes at right now being 4th in scoring he will break the record for SM-liiga, before him the highest a rookie has ever gotten was 6th.
-
1+1 today and +1 pretty strong game, and got the first star.
-
Word is he will play tomorrow... thank GOD.

In the description it says 'accidentally' as the only person by him is his own player, at least from this clip I can't say this was an accident.

I would disagree with this, I think babs puts other players on the kill because the 18-22 minutes a night that Z and Dats play are better served as 5 on 5 or PP time. (I mean Abs will NEVER be a Selke level forward so to say hes better defensively in any capacity is pretty laughable). Even work horses like them can only log so many minutes a night and since the emergence of Eaves, Flip, Miller, and Abs as good PKers has happened its allowed Babcock to not have to use Z and Dats so much on the PK. Now if its games 7 of the Stanley cup playoffs and they need to for sure kill a penalty, I will bet my bottom dollar you'll see Z out there before abs.

I would argue that Zetterberg, Eaves, Stuart, Datsyuk, Lidstrom, and Miller are all on the same level of PKer or better than Abby, he seems to be playing very uninspired hockey lately, and I think we all expect a lot more out of him. Honestly, I see him as a 40 point a year player who can hit and kill penalties, and he just hasn't shown this as much in the last 20 games or so. I also vote sit him in favor of Miller for a few games, then let him play, see if him knowing his roster spot is not guaranteed and needs to be earned just like anyone not named Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Lidstrom, etc.

Hate to ask, but with a player like Clutterbuck, who takes runs at players, wasn't this just a matter of time? Now I don't think a hit to his head is right, but Clutterbuck is like Tootoo but at least Tootoo isn't a coward and he goes around making questionable hits on skilled players. This wouldnt be a problem but as has been pointed out he just hits and hides.

Shaman replied to DatsyukianDekes's topic in General
Not so long as Chicago's the one paying it.
