off the top of my head.... Crosby?
-
Each one has its strengths, but its obvious that better players (IE the ones who go on to have hall of fame level careers) come from the QMJHL. The WHL produces a lot of 3-4th line energy guys, and while I like that, you can't argue that player for player, the QMJHL has had more top line players come out of it.
-
good game entertainment wise, but for the wings they need to play 60 mins.
-
You obviously know nothing about Canadian jr leagues, because you don't see the best players coming out of the WHL they all come out of the QMJHL.
-
Yea trade one of our best defense prospects and Hudler for a guy with 12 points last year
-
So is the hockey game before or after the circus?
-
I would argue that the QMJHL is a step above the WHL... (not implying that one must progress from whl to qmjhl, but that its a better level of talent)I would also argue that the OHL is a half step above the WHL because its talent level is more consistent top to bottom

I don't see why everyone is so high on this kid, hes having a fine season in the WHL, but the WHL is a step below all the top european leagues and two steps below the AHL. If he can come up to the AHL and produce points and do all the things a grinder does I can see the excitement but so far its been one season in the WHL.

Actually I could have sworn that our third line for the cup winning year had more Hudler and Flippula on them possibly some Mikael Samuelsson too. PS Avery doesn't help your cause, hes the dennis rodman of hockey, a clown, an idiot and only hurts the game.
-
Well the biggest reason is because hes an agitator not a scorer, granted hes doing pretty good this season in the WHL, but in the WHL scoring isn't so hard, I mean you've had players get 200+ points in a single season. I see him peaking as a fourth line energy player or trade bait. The wings philosophy just has no place for the agitator in the top 9.
-
I don't think anyone seriously believes Callahan has third line potential.
-
I would love to see Pulkinnen and Jarnkrok on the roster at that point, this is the first time Detroit could have a couple really young guys come in and learn from the big game.

Z to P for the SH
-
2 power play goals 27 points in 29 games
-
The problems I have with it are that first Phoenix would ask a kings ransom for him, second, he doesn't play the wings style, third hes pricey (4.5 million). The video is mostly at blue adams for a line combo thread than Doan.

Not just his poor faceoff ability (which is an important reason why he shouldn't be third line center, as faceoffs are the key to the style of offense the wings use), with out Modono on the third line the line loses some of its offensive and defensive punch, Flip would be the best fit of all the centers on the roster.
-
If I were forced to make a prediction here, its that Z and Dats will be separated and Flip will go down to center the third line
-
Just wait until an enforcer thread pops up...you want to see the best of LGWs you'll find it in there.
-
Fixed But still its not quite fair...Lets throw in a 5th round pick and make it three way with Pittsburgh for Crosby and Malkin.

My dearest Flip slappy: What does Flip do that puts him on par with any current second line forward in the league? With his (lack of) offensive ability and defensive prowess he really is a 3rd line center. I hate to agree with Eva but hes right, Hudler right now is more a victim of Babcock not putting him on a line where he can produce than just not producing because of lack of will. There are very few players who can make the players around them better, we have 3 in Lids, Z and Dats. Hudler isn't one of them, Flippula definitely isn't one of them so I really can't see why people are blaming Hudler. I think Huds and Flip actually complement eachother very well and I hope they are line mates again. My point here is that the real story here isn't Hudler isn't producing after a quarter of a season on the third line, its that Flip is playing with a power forward who is a legit goal scorer, getting second line minutes and power play time and is still on pace for a 40 point season.
