Its not like Flip is having a breakout season everyone on here keeps swearing hes on the cusp off.

See above post...

My point as I keep coming to is that Flip is given a lot more rope despite the fact he does not have the offensive ability to play as a legit second line center, but are throwing Hudler under the bus after less than a quarter of a season. I understand that he is great fore checking and all but for abit more money you can get someone like Jordan Staal, who does all that and still is a 50+ a point a year guy at 22. I mean seriously 8 points so far out of a 2nd line center is a joke in this league. FFS hes 68th that puts him in the mid range 3rd line center. But Hudler is the whipping boy even though his PPG isn't really that much lower than Flips. Mark my words he will be a career third liner center, Dats and Z will be broken up and our first line will be a lot less dangerous. I wish I could find the posts where people on this board were saying Flip was going to get 65-80 points this season, because the homer glasses people wear for this guy are amazing /rant

Next generation stuff, but you have to live in the world of super secret high tech military hardware to understand

Way to form a constructive post. But comparing hudler to someone with mental problems is wrong and childish. I would back up his question.
-
Because I was talking about anything but points Newfy you really never say anything intelligent. My point is a second liner should be putting up more than .4 points per game. Filpulla is an exceptional third line center, but a poor second liner center. Lack of scoring depth will kill the wings come playoff time if Flip and Huds don't turn it on.

I don't understand all the picking on Hudler when Flippula is on pace for a 38 point season and has yet to have a break out season everyone here has been predicting for years on end. Ya he gets hot, but when hes cold, hes freezing.

the second line was invisible.

7-6 Philly midway through the 2nd period

3 goals 2 assists for Stakmos and 5 assists for St Louis. -
Hes like Franzen, very very very streaky, I don't want to bear the bad news, but he will cool down, and I am sure he will be on the whipping post 2 games after his production slows.

600th win for Kenny Holland as GM! :siren: :siren:

The power play is the enforcer

1 goal 1 assist 7 shots and +2 today.

That is SO epic!

Well all I can say, as a Hudler slappy, is that if he keeps up with his play of the last couple games a lot of crow will be had by all. And I think everyone will be happy to have it.

#1 that Injury history doesn't change where he would end up if he peaks out where he potentially can. If he keeps getting injured he won't be a second liner, he will be looking for a new job. The reason why everyone passed on him until so late was because it was unclear how we would bounce back this season. This was a risk/reward thing, not because of his overall talent. Jarnkrok went higher because hes a less risky pick. #2 So whats your point? Some players just never put on weight. If Jarnkrok never puts on weight what than? and what if he puts on weight and can't adjust. Theres any old saying 'If frogs had wings they wouldn't bump their asses when they hopped.' Can't live in the world of IFs. And from what I have heard and seen from this season Pulkkinen has improved his skating a lot, and is a lot more defensively responsible. He may not be flying like Helm or a future Sleke winner, but it doesn't seem like his game is 1 dimensional. #3 From everything I've seen and heard the Finnish league has a bit higher level of competition, not 100% if its true, but it seems to be that way. #4 Pulkkinen has 17 points in 19 games, Jarnkrok has 10 in 19... those aren't similar. .9 vs .53 points per game is a large difference last time I checked. Its pretty much the difference between Dats and Bert last season. If Hudler was the same size as Flipper (height wise) there wouldn't be a debate there either.
-
Fixed. Please don't talk about our european prospects without doing homework, Pulkkinen right now is playing in a better league and is tearing it up, if he can stay healthy hes a first line sniper. Hell if it wasn't for a couple of injuries he would have been a top ten pick (a year ago he was talked about as a top 3 pick).

Just looking at the skill set Hudler-Flip-Mule line makes a lot more sense for Hudler than Hudler-Modano-Cleary line. Cleary and Modano are both better finishers than playmakers meaning that Hudler had to take up a lot of play making slack, couple that with his size it makes him an obvious person to overload defensively and take out of the equation. With no one to make a play to either Modano or Cleary and as they both aren't great playmakers the line just couldn't click. So if I had any say (which I don't) I would keep the lines from tonight and see if tonights great play keeps up.

Dear Babs, PLEASE keep these line together!

Looks like the lines are clicking well :siren: :siren: :siren: GOAL

Well, for someone in his late twenties playing in a league with old men or young kids, you'd hope he'd be racking them up.
-
Goal today, +1 I believe he has 18 points in 20 games.

Downey-McCarty-May Grimson-Kocur-Clarkson Neil-Mike Tyson-Boogaard Clowe-Orr-Dorsett Lilja-Howard (only in games against the pens) Salei-Stuart Lidstrom-Kronwall Parros (thanks 55fan) This would be an epic team, just think of all the fights, I GUARANTEE a Stanley cup.
