Uh, Our GM is supposed to be smarter than Atlanta's GM, and is said to be one of the smartest in the league, I mean the Kovie deal is par for the course for the Thrashers, Detroit on the other hand use to be know for savvy deals that like the Stuart deal, that added a part we needed for 2 draft picks, this deal was for a low draft pick and a D-man that wasnt even a depth move. I believe giving up on Leino could easily come back and bite us, granted he has had a bad season, but, he wasn't in a fair situation, he was expected to help replace multiple established first/second line players in his first year, and do it after a lot more talent was taken out of the line up due to injuries. If the Wings had gotten a 3rd or 2nd I would have said it was a good deal, but this is ridiculous. PS Knowing that there are idiots out there like Burke and which ever janitor runs the thrashers, why didn't we trade him there and get Kessel and Kaberle for Leino and Lebda?

This is a horrible move, the wings should have gotten a whole lot more for him, atleast a 3rd. As for the D-man we got, 3 things 1. He won't make the wings any tougher if hes playing in grand rapids 2. The wings already have a log jam in Defense. 3. Hes nothing we don't already have, a pylon.

Id say New Jersey is the team to beat right now. The Caps are #2 on my list, but right now New Jersey just filled the only hole their team had, But the Caps could easily get pick up a veteran backup goalie or good Dman and be right their in the same breath as New Jersey as the teams to beat.

Again this doesnt take into account anything, if this is any indicator, Stuart is raping the payroll and Meech is almost Lidstrom good. I guess it doesn't take into account who they are playing against.

Other than +/- (which everyone agress is the most overrated stat for defense) show me how Lebda is better? His TOI is comparable to Ericsson's, less points, lower shot %, I can point out gaffs in Lebda's play every game he plays in, whereas ericsson, though not perfect, is still more solid and has a lot more upside.

Lebda is the stupidest Dman we have, just watch him for 5 shifts, he will pinch at the worst times, he will make horrible moves in the defensive zone, he will make s***ty passes and thats just par for the course for him, Im not even referring to he is having an off night. Ericsson is young, its his first year, people expected him to be Lids Jr this year, and I been saying that everyone would be let down the whole time, Dmen like Ericsson peak given time, not the second they are thrown into the fire. Ericsson's DOWNSIDE is still better than Lebda's UPSIDE PERIOD.

Lets not talk paintball, those sports are for 16 year old kids who want to play soldier.
