The wings wont do this, they will only offer him contracts for years he will play for sure, so 2 years is the max, 1 year contracts are more likely. Lids wouldn't sign a contract after 35 unless he was sure he'd play those years, hes going going to shoot the wings in the foot with them having to have millions in cap space for him if hes not playing.
-
If you watch Olympic hockey its different, more open, less hard hits, less goons, more skill, I think this would be a good rehab stint for him if hes in playing condition. Thats a big if though.
-
It doesn't clear it I think you can go over the cap at a prorated amount.
-
Please quit, they wont sign him for more than 2 years at a time due to the over 35 rule.
-
Well, i know it cant go from 6.5 to 1, I thought it was 50% but it might be different, and if Lids retires in any of those years we are still stuck with part of the cap hit atleast, I believe. The best way would be 1st year 4.5 2nd year 2.5 For a 3.5 cap hit
-
Cant do that in this CBA either, you cant have a 50% drop over a year.
-
my guess 2 years at 3.8

Hate to even say this: But can anyone setup Hossa like Crosby did? I don't see anyone on the hawks that is that level of a playmaker, not even a Dats level playmaker. Hossa thrives when he has someone who can get him the puck, and while a lot of players can do that at a high level in the Reg. season, few can keep it up in the playoffs.

I miss, in no order: Hudler Franzen Kronwall and that one guy...you know, Dolphin...
-
we are one step away from 'freak locker room fellatio accident put Crosby on IR for 6 months, Bettman was too sore to make comment'

Its the special teams thats killing them, plain and simple, if the wings can get that PK up to 80%+ then they will be a lot on the road.
-
Nice save ozzy Lebda with a bonehead play, then a good play.
-
Doesnt anyone consider what Dumount was doing to Homer interference?
-
what needs to be done to stop plays like this is mirror suspensions, if you put a player out on a dumb play like that, you are out till the player who was injured plays again, it will drop rates of these kinda plays.
-
Definately a bert fan, but, both have been weak calls.
-
Dive.
-
I call it borderline because in this case, the puck was near by, and had Bert moved out of the way of the nashville player he would have been out of position himself. I don't consider that interference, but if it is, than they better call it like that all night.
-
It was abit borderline in my opinion, I dont like the idea that you have to give up your ice just cause you're in fear of the Interference call. PS like McCarty as Color.
-
Id be thrilled to see even Maltby on the first line with how bert is playing.
-
Troll somewhere else, kthx?
-
s***ty call, s***ty goal.
-
Piss poor PK
-
Thats a BS call.

Lebda doesn't have the speed to get back, or the hockey sense to know when not to , I perfer him not to risk it then have him pinch, miss the shot and cause an odd man rush and a scoring chance against. I still hate those stupid whistles.
