Some many people who never got to be wings fans during the Yzerman days will quote stats at you why Messier was such a great captain for the Rangers, but im 100% with you, if anyone should be able to have an award like this it should be someone like Yzerman who was bar none the best captain the NHL will ever see.

I heard that too, I have NHL live on my TV and i heard that interview, so i checked out Mlive, babs seems to really believe hes gunna be back.

I dont really think anyone in the NHL ranks him in the top 10 captains or top 15 leaders in the league.

(NEW for 2005-06) A player who is deemed to be the instigator of an altercation in the final five (5) minutes of regulation time or at any time in overtime, shall be assessed an instigator minor penalty, a major for fighting, a ten minute misconduct and an automatic one-game suspension. The length of suspension will double for each subsequent offense. In addition, the player's coach shall be fined $10,000 -- a fine that will double for each subsequent incident.

Im gunna bet that we see Dats in game 4, but, thats just what im feeling as an uninformed fan.

Like any good competitors they take advantage of the rules as best they can, and so long as the NHL allows them to use mattresses as pads, they will have better then average low coverage, and they do have a great goaltending coach who will make sure they know what to do after the shot hits them.

Well, to extend the discussion, Homer's numbers are declining, and honestly, hes getting hurt more and more, sometimes a player has to decide its time to hang them up. I see Homer either hanging them up at the end of this season, or not getting an extension when his contract is up. I love homer, but, hes on the downside of his carrer now.
