Lets go red wings!!!
-
I could see it going the other way, but, it never appeared to me, a wings fan, granted, that Z closed his hand on the puck or tried to freeze it, it looked like he was trying to push it out of the crease with his hand, I dont believe by the letter of the rule that he was trying to gather the puck up with his hands, he was more or less making a play with his hands, which seems to me to be a gray area in this.

5-2 Detroit Lids x1, Leino x1, Hank x2, Hossa x1

Ok, I am sure everyone has atleast taken a look at TSN or have heard somewhere someone comparing the 2009 pens to the Oilers team of 1984. Heres the facts: Wins/losses/ties/points/adjusted points Oilers: 57-18-5 119 (1984 rules) 124 (2008/9)(assuming they went on to lose all their ot games) Pens: 45-28-9 90 (1984 rules) 99 (2008/9) Goals for/against Oilers: GF: 446 GA: 314 Pens: GF 264 GA: 239 Top scores Oilers: Player GP G A Pts PIM Wayne Gretzky 74 87 118 205 39 Paul Coffey 80 40 86 126 104 Jari Kurri 64 52 61 113 14 Mark Messier 73 37 64 101 165 Glenn Anderson 80 54 45 99 65 Pens: GP G A Pts PIM Evgeni Malkin 82 35 78 113 80 Sidney Crosby 77 33 70 103 76 Jordan Staal 82 22 27 49 37 Petr Sykora 76 25 21 46 36 Ruslan Fedotenko 65 16 23 39 44 ______________________________ I can keep going, but, its amazingly clear that even if the penguins win the cup this season, that there is very little in common between these two teams.

I wasnt calling the players 2 trick, (though Crosby could be 2 tricks, side of the net being the huge one) but there team is a 2 trick pony team, IE, they lose one of them, their team flat line, the 84 Oilers weren't that one dimensional.
-
The stats I used were intended to show that they had more balanced scoring, a better regular season, and a couple of the best defenders ever to play the game. Not the 2 trick ponies that the Pens are riding to the SCF the last 2 years.
-
I was hoping that T lowe was just begging the question, not seriously asking for the info
-
I blame Bettman, the reason the contract didnt get renewed, by the sounds of it, was because Bettman wanted equal exposure for all teams, while ESPN, like it does with all sports would want to have the ability to select large market/successful teams to air. Honestly, I am with ESPN, who wants to watch a Canes/Panthers game?

but Big E is in, thats the only person i think anyone of us really thought was on the fence today, seems dats is more likely game 2 or 3, draper is unknown.
-
only 20 hours to puck drop. prediction: 5-2 Detroit Lids x2 Hank x2 Leino x1
-
What I like about the Pens is that they gave us Conklin and Hossa.
-
Only if the Zebras arent the main reason the Pens win, if they did like last year and purposefully miss calls/make calls when the wings are about to put away a game, then I will not give them any credit.
-
How dare you talk bad about the 2009 pens, they are the reincarnation of the 1984 Oilers you know, how they won 57 had a D man that scored 126 points, and of course Crosby had 206 points just like Wayne..... they had the exact same season the Oilers had.. I mean the parallels are undeniable, the wings should just accept right now that they will lose, because as we know, history always repeats itself, but not the way we think, like it the Wings being the last team able to repeat, no, that cant be the repeat, we dont have the annotated one.

So to sum up the thread "OH NOES THE WINGS HAZ NO HOPES OF WEENIINNNGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!! "

Game 1: Lidstrom will play, Ericsson questionable

Damn, Frankenpavel. -
What has the SCF taught us anything in the last 15 years its this Defense>Offense Detroit better Defensive team>Pittsburgh better offensive talent 2008 Anaheim Best D >Ottawa Great O 2007 I can keep on going to 1995 where the wings were beaten by the Devils in 4, because we had the great offense, but they played a shutdown Defense sort of game. My point here is, while the pens could win, its always smart to bet on the team in the SCF with the better D.

Best possible news for the wings, worst news for the pens. I cant wait for tomorrow night -
With homer going down hill quick, and cleary being Nothing but clutch, i wouldnt have him on the 4th line, plus, draper+faceoffs=money, so i dont know why youd have abs as your center on that line.

I know a lot is made of the so called 'hockey experts' but, I like the fact that we are favored in the gambling world, if the 'experts' on tv and in print are wrong, they dont lose anything, these guys, they lose money. http://www.point-spreads.com/hockey/052809...tting-odds.html

Just wondering, if Crosby is a baby, does that make Bettman a pedophile?- 740 replies

Det/Pit 4-2 Hossa shoves it down Pittsburgh's throat.
-
Another thing I like about the Pens is that when NBC talks about Crosby during the SCF, atleast it won't be 100% random.
-
I thought for sure he'd be one of the last ones standing, thank god, my voodoo doll worked.
-
I also admire the fact that all the hockey talking heads are picking them. It will make this year's cup all the sweeter.
