QFT. why not have him play? since we're basically working with 5 d-men right now as it is, at least give raffi a bit of game time so that if/when we advance to round three, he'll have seen some game action before game one (assuming we get that far, of course). don't expect to see a huge difference on the PP--he will have an impact, but he won't be in 100% game shape tonight and i think his effect on the PP has been a bit exaggerated here. still, there's no arguing our PP is better with rafalski then with out it, so long has he's not consistently ******* up keep-ins. didn't know big e got hurt. glad it's nothing major.

holmstrom is a one-of-a-kind player who is popular in detroit, hated by other teams, and great at what he does. he gets paid 2.25 million dollars a year. why the eff would holland trade him for a "low draft pick" when he won't be easily replaced and does not get paid that much anyway?
-
that's like commodore being pissed at babcock for making him play hard and become a better player. ah, tampa.

i have a feeling the ducks will be gassed and won't bring their game tonight. i hope that's the case. in that case: 5-2 wings. if the ducks really show up, we'll still win, but it'll probably be a 3-2 2OT win that will keep me up half the night. either way, go wings!!!

i don't know who usually starts these things, but we're closing in on 24 hours until game time...i figured 2250 was good because *obviously* we have to have more than last game...but i feel like our guys only need about 250 extra posts FTW given how they played last game. let's make it happen. [ one ]

seconded. good work so far fellas (and gals). LET'S GO WINGS!!!
-
i both assume and hope to god that's the case. we went from 500 to a thousand...okay...and then jumped straight to 2000. now we have no choice but to keep increasing the post count...so hopefully 2250 is better than the 4000 post-thread that would have continued the pattern.

thank you, and i agree. it's not fair that men rarely get to be objectivied. keep up the good work!

haven't been here in a few hours...thought i'd see how things were going. looks like we've expaned from german beer girls to any type of girl doing any various activity. hmm...i see where we go when we get desperate to fill posts. GO WINGS!!!!!!!

ugh, that's terrible. i mean, obviously the people are really dumb for trying that...but it just makes me cringe seeing how much pain they're in. that's a lot of broken bones.

all these pictures of beer are making it really hard for me to not go buy beer right now...
-
isn't the rule that the goalie can't handle the puck past center ice? or even outside of his own zone? i'm not sure...
-
if we put all the time an energy we collectively spend posting in these threads into something worthwhile, we could probably solve world hunger or something. or, we could just make beer jokes.
-
does anyone know why they're called the "black aces?" i missed that somewhere down the road...
-
well done so far fellas. keep up the good work.

i guess he was watching too many NHL commercials...
-
huh. i actually learned something today. i always thought it was offsides no matter what if any offensive player had both skates in the zone before the puck went in. like others, i feel like i've seen this called offsides, but i'm not actually sure now...
-
yeah, i mean to be fair, he's not nearly the relentless back-checker that datsyuk, zetterberg and hossa are. his defense isn't amazing, though it's not terrible, IMO. but a lot of players probably would get more just because of their wicked offense. franzen would probably have signed for more elsewhere too if he'd been playing on a team other than the red wings prior to his signing. on many (though certainly not all) teams, he's be on their top line with their best set-up people and logging the most minutes, which would probably boost his production a bit. here, he gets second-line minutes with usually the second-tier defensemen (i.e. kronwall instead of lidstrom moving the puck for him). it is hard to argue that being on a line with hossa puts you on the second line, but filppula, though emerging as a (hopefully) promising set-up man, is obviously no where near where datsyuk and even zetterberg are in this regard.
-
yeah, i kinda forgot about that. if anything, it would have to be a wrist/hand issue since his skating/hitting does not seem to be impeded whatsoever.
-
yeah, i mean, you're right. if we were losing there would be none of this cheery, aw-shucks attitude being doled out by fans right now. it's true, though, that we are winning, so i'm not too stressed about it. if we lose game six, and he doesn't score or set up a key goal, i'm going to be pissed, and it will be absolutely essential that he have a monster game seven. IMO, there's no way that the goals won't start coming really, really soon with the way he's playing right now. once he gets one, you can bet they'll start flowing.

if we play the hawks we'll win a lot of games 5-4 or 4-3. if we play vancouver we'll win a lot of games 3-2 or 2-1. both good series. hawks would be more fun and less travel. probably better for ratings; non-detroit+non-chicago but actual hockey fans will probably be more interested in a wings-hawks series. so, go hawks.

so awkward and hilarious. you, sir, are a racist. i hope you're proud of yourself.

wait, was homer actually called for interference on that play?
