it's funny that if melrose doesn't pick us we're mad because he clearly knows nothing about hockey. if he does pick us we're mad because he's "cursed." *sigh* i guess you can't make us happy.

i can't get photobucket to work. everytime i try to upload a pic, last night and today, it just says "Attention: Server (IO) Error." anyway, real good stuff here. the sumo one was real funny.

agreed. i'm still in favor of the "if it ain't broke..." argument. yeah, fil's numbers aren't red hot, but we're doing fine. if we lose game one and he's invisible, i could see malts coming in for him, particularly if he's still a bit injured. thank god helm is still playing.

Out of the three 3-0 series leaders right now...
stormboy replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
i put pens just on the shear fact that they're undefeated. yeah, ott sucked, but the rangers cleaned out the devils in round one so they have to be doing something right. (or they were doing something right, anyway.) yeah, the refs may have stolen one game from the rangers, but the 2-1 OT dallas game (game 3) should have been 2-1 sharks after regulation due to a blown call. turco had the puck anything but frozen early in the game and got a quick whistle. in which case, after tonight, that series is 2-2 with san jose going back home. granted, the sharks have not been playing well at all. but a 2-1 OT victory with a disallowed goal for the other team isn't real impressive. ana has had no offense for most of the year, and the sharks struggled with the flames, who didn't impress me in a huge way. i thought detroit should not have taken six games against nash, esp the way we lost games 3 and 4. even a sweep of the avs, though it will make me happy--REAL happy--won't impress me hugely as theodore has sucked, half their team's been injured, and, IMO, the calls have gone our way. not that those are excuses, just things that make me not blown away by the wings at this point... edit: i think the "stolen" rangers goal was game two? merh. -
A warning to the Stars (and the eastern conference)
stormboy replied to KronwallCRUNCH's topic in General
i agree with that in principle. good thing we're not players, though. if the wings were thinking this way, i'd be worried. a few LGWers saying it's over doesn't change a damn thing. i get your vibe, though. -
watched the replay. yeah, i think sammy flailed a little, but it's hard to say whether that's just an instinct or a conscious move. i think when you watch replays in slow motion, you can often tell when somebody is selling it because there's a delay between the action and the reaction that may go unnoticed at real-life speed. however, IMO, watching the replay i didn't see this. additionally, forsberg's stick was parallel to the ice and not moving latterally. if anything it was moving up and down. then suddently, it swings right into the face of sammy. now, i do think that in most cases it's impossible to judge intent. but, if by watching that replay, you're going to argue that sammy had the "intent" of diving, then you don't have a leg to stand on if someone is arguing that 'berg intended to hit him in the face. if, on the other hand, you say that you KNOW sammy wasn't diving, then it's impossible to argue that you KNOW forsberg "intended" to hit him. that being the case, four-minute penalty, wings score, wings win. that's enough justice for me.

maybe a little early. i had a cousin who died at about that age from a heart attack. way too young. hope sean's okay. sure, not my favorite guy, but jesus. this shouldn't happen to anyone.
-
personally thought that one should have been called. i wasn't real happy after the game because the aves have tons of excuses for why they didn't win that one. *shrug* oh well. my favorite doc quote: "...and kept along neatly to datsyuk."

pens game is a wild one.

ozzie rocks. i really hope he stays hot. if not, he's still a first-rate guy in my book.
-
damn. to me, the sharks have been the big surprise of this post-season...
-
interesting choice to bring in bouche.
-
yeah, turco didn't look real smart on that one...

i think pierre just praised the wings. weird.
-
i'm not sure if someone's created one yet or not, but i thought i'd throw out a few ideas. take one drink every time: mike emerick says "DRIIIVE" pierre insults detroit detroit has a blatant giveaway in their zone floppa dives (apparantly he's scratched, so not for game one at least) "edzo" calles mike "doc" take two drinks every time: sammy shoots the puck when he should have passed datsyuk steals the puck take three drinks every time: a goal is scored. just a few ideas. others?
-
so true. there was a game last year (i think, maybe it was early this season) where tim thomas made a glove save while he was laying down. "doc" was like, "OHHHHHHhhhh and a reMARKABLE SAVE BY THOMAS!!!!" his voice cracked about for times and i thought he was going to have a heart attack. so funny. "hockey central." haha...ripping on versus is hilarious.
-
wait, i think edzo just praised the wings....
-
i love how the versus announcers (edzo) were praising staaslk;fjasdflny for the dive.
