My interview from the OC Register

Yeah it is easy to see it on replays, especially when they can show it from 8 different angles but when you are there in person and you have a combination of a terrible PA guy and a playoff atmosphere, it isn't as easy to see.

My interview from the OC Register

In defense of my fellow Ducks fans, Teemu's second goal looked like it was scored by Niedermayer if you didn't have the advantage of replay and when I saw it, I thought Scotty had tapped it in. When the PA announcer (who is terrible and hard to understand) repeated the goal, I believe NIedermayer was called for a penalty and the crowd was reacting to that while he was announcing it. I know that Anaheim has a bad rep in terms of their fan base and there is some legitimacy to it, but there are a lot of people out here who are passion about hockey who have been fans since before 2007 and a lot since the inception of the franchise. I am sure there are some people who jumped on the Red Wings wagon this since they won the Cup. It happens in every major sport and unfortunately, they seem to be the loudest and most obnoxious, i.e. throwing an octopus in the middle of the play.

for anyone that is watching the ducks broadcast

Trust me, Ducks fans don't like the angles they show either. We want the standard angle back, but FSN West insists on using this rinkside HD feed.

10/29 GDT: Ducks 5, Red Wings 4 (OT)

Hey guys, It's been a while since I have been here but I wanted to get some Wings fan perspectives on the game last night. It was a great game and I would have said the same thing had the Ducks lost. That OT goal was borderline and is tough tell based on the angles that I have seen. One thing that I think has been overlooked by a lot of people is that the Ducks would have had a powerplay if they had ruled that as a no goal since Rafalski hooked Getzlaf. By no means does that mean that the Ducks would have scored, but a 4-3 powerplay is dangerous. Again, congrats on the Cup last year and your great start. I will be cheering for you tonight against San Jose. You guys are a scary good team.

Anaheim not exactly the new Hockeytown

Like someone else said, it isn't like they were at the Pond asking these questions to the people that actually give a rip, they go to Newport Beach which is a good half hour away and talk to people who find it more important to go to the beach than to go somewhere to watch the game. This isn't exactly the best piece of journalism ever. It was an article written by the Canadian "media" to try to get people to believe that every person in the Honda Center thinks it's the regular season and we are playing the Royals. I thought it was funny because I know that there is a much better fan base than the one depicted here and the fans at the games have been awesome ! Especially during the SCF. I don't know why we are pushing this 'New hockeytown' garbage because everyone knows that Anaheim will never be solely a 'hockeytown'. Hockey is growing out here and the people that truly love the Ducks are loving our success right now.

WCF Game 4 GDT (5/17): Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET

Ok I am sorry for making such a broad generalization but from the posts I have read it seems like this is going to be a cake walk tonight. There are a few people who are still concerned about tonight's game but it seems like the overall vibe is that the Ducks might as well not show up.

WCF Game 4 GDT (5/17): Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET

I wish the Wings would underestimate the Ducks as much as 90% of this board is. It's do or die time for the Ducks and I expect the veterans to come out hard and the young guys to feed off of their energy. There is no way the Ducks can play as bad as they did in game 3 and it will be interesting to see the pairings we put out there to make up for the loss of Pronger. I would expect to see a lot of Scott N. This is where he needs to step up and prove why he is a Norris finalist. I am nervous about this game but I don't think it will be 17-0 like a lot of you seem to think it will be. Here's to a great and clean game 4! Go Ducks!

    Holmstrom Hit from Behind

They aren't saying they should ban hitting. There were a few big hits that were well within the rules of the game. Pronger's was in no way within the rules of the game. He pretty much punched Holmstrom's head into the board. There is no way that they are saying hits should be taken out of them game. You would be just as pissed if they did the same thing to Teemu or Andy Mac. There is definitely a line and Pronger crossed it.

oh where oh where have all the ducks fans gone

I would have posted earlier but I have a final tomorrow and studying came before message boards. I wish I could give an excuse for tonight but we flat out got beat. We didn't play well at all and you guys capitalized on our mistakes big time. Pronger is a goon and should have been ejected, not Robby. Robby was should finishing his check and Pronger was definitely going up high on purpose. The game tonight took a lot of confidence out of me but luckily I know that this is not the Ducks team I watched all season. I think they will come out much better with their season on the line. Good luck in game 4!

    Holmstrom Hit from Behind

I have no idea why Robby got tossed. I thought his hit was fairly clean. He at least somewhat came from the side and used his shoulder. I thought he was just finishing his check. Chris Pronger on the other hand was clearly trying to do some damage. I lost what little respect I had for him tonight. Don't get me wrong, I am glad he is on our team, but there is no place for what he did. There were multiple times tonight when I thought Pronger was trying to hurt someone and that pissed me off. There is nothing I hate more than seeing someone trying to make a hit with the intent to injure. I wish I could apologize for what he did but I know he doesn't care. So I am sorry that tonight the Ducks decided to be dirty and I hope that the rest of the series is clean. Kudos to the Wings for not taking cheap shots and playing dirty.

    WCF Game 3 (5/15): Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET

I think there might be a few turnovers in the Red Wings zone because of the Ducks forecheck, the ice, and the boards that might create chances for the Ducks but I think Dom will shut the door. I am hoping for a Ducks win tonight. You guys make me nervous because you all sound so confident and are predicting Red Wings wins that I begin to think that is the way the game is actually going to turn out. Here's to a great game tonight! Go Ducks!

    Hasek Save on Getzlaf

    It was actually Robby N.

Pronger: "They can't handle us 5-on-5..."

I agree and I won't even make comments on things that I don't know much about, like Jiggy's pads. I didn't know much about hockey in '03 and therefore don't know much about his pads. From what I know know they are of legal size but I don't know about all the things that go into making the pads seem bigger and what not. I do know that he is a good positional goaltender. He is not that good side to side like last night on the shorthanded goal. I think he makes a lot of saves on initial shots because he is in the right spot. Now how many saves are made because of the "oversized" pads, I don't know. It's tough for me to watch other NHL games because I am in college and our dorms don't have cable so I try to follow as much as I can but it's tough. I am planning on getting Center Ice when I am married and living in my own place though.

Pronger: "They can't handle us 5-on-5..."

I will be honest, I am new to hockey. Before I kind of liked it but never really followed it. My sister-in-law worked for the Ducks and so I became a fan that way and really didn't start watching until the Ducks 2003 cup run. After that season I didn't really follow because the Ducks sucked the next season and then there was the lockout. Last year is when I really became a HOCKEY fan, not just a Ducks fan. My sister has season ticket so I went to all the games last year and I have fallen in love with the sport. It has become my favorite sport by far and I will not stop thinking about it once the Ducks season is over. That being said, all this back in forth is ridiculous because nothing is ever going to be achieved. Everyone is going to back their own team as it should be. I hate it when Ducks fans go onto another team's board and say things that make us all sound like morons. I think you can be supportive of your team while being respectful. I have the utmost respect for the Red Wings organization. I remember I was always the Red Wings on NHL 94 for the Sega and would always score with Paul Coffey. I think you guys are extremely talented and I have no idea how you have so many big name talents on one team. I am not sucking up, just giving credit where credit is due. You have shut down our PP and are taking it to our PK. You are looking like you are on a power play while in fact we are the ones on the power play. The Zetterberg, Datsyuk, and Holmstrom line scares me and I have to look away whenever one of them has the puck. However I think the line that has been most effective for us is the Perry, Penner, and Getzlaf line. They seem to control the puck down low a lot when they are out there and have probably generated the most scoring chances for us. There is no way this is going to be a quick series. It will go at least six because I don't see either team winning three in a row. I think both teams can play at another level and when that happens this series is going to be even more exciting than it already is. Best of luck out here on the slushy ice

    I said id be back

I think there are a lot of fans who want to believe that Rob just swiped at it and Dom's momentum carried him in, bt unfortunately I know that Rob's stick gave him a little help. Whether it was intentional or night, I don't know but I guess there's not a whole lot we can do about it now.
