Getting away from long tenured players and those who spent their career with the Wings, I would go with Brett Hull... I always loved that guy and loved him even more on the Wings. I loved the "Two Kids and a Goat" line, that's where I fell in love with Datsyuk <3.

Again- Who would you rather see backing up Howard? Backup goalies are just that, backups. Yeah, he gave up bad goals in the last couple games, but is it his fault that the team around him was only able to score two total goals in these two games? The pitchforks that come out after EVERY loss has officially gotten tired. Last I checked, they dress a whole team for every game. You're looking at his pace after playing two games which were from one absolute extreme to the other? Conklin has been heralded as one of the top back-ups around the league for years now. Most people were thrilled to see him come back. Jimmy was pretty selfish to not plan this event in the offseason so that we wouldn't have to see Conks in, I mean, Jimmy is expected to play all 82 games every season...

You're right, that one loss defined his whole career and shutouts don't come easy no matter who you're playing. Last I checked, the Avs are off to quite the start, too. Since the market is flooded with so many legit backups, who would you prefer to see out there with Conks salary?

"Craplin" is 1-1 and has a shutout. He had a miserable game on Saturday against arguably the best team in hockey. If Howard had the same performance I'm sure you would be calling for his head, too.

If you researched the entire league you would probably find similar results. Back to back games are tough, especially since they're typically a home/road split creating the travel day in-between.
