Got something going at the end of the last one... do something with this extra chance now.
-
Come on, PP, let's go one for on this one.

I still lol whenever I hear his name.

Haha, for a full period no less.

They were all special in their own way, 2008 was the most satisfying for me. Given that it was post lockout, post Yzerman, Shanahan and Federov and the re-emergence of Osgood in the playoffs that season. It all but debunked the theory that the Wings only "buy championships." It was proof that the Wings are a well run organization that drafts well, treats veterans well and is indeed the true "Hockeytown."

It's only two game into the season. He's had a decent two games. Let everyone mesh some more for a minute before the trade talks. If he continues to play well, he will be an asset that the Wings should ride.

I'm working on this thing... I'm still kicking around a few ideas on what to do with the rest of it.

We're flying out from SLC to catch our first Wings game. We have a layover in Denver on Saturday and were considering booking a different flight to catch this game, but there is just too much other chaos for us right now to make it work Stoked that we're actually going to be making it to the Joe, though, for our first game. They play near us quite often (Cali, Arizona, Colorado) and I just refuse to see them play anywhere else before I see them play at the joe. GO WINGS!!

1- Yzerman- When it's all said and done, it will be Datsyuk if he finishes his career with the Wings. He's the most exciting player I've watched and I've followed him since he was a rookie. 2- Hasek- easily one of the best goalies in the league at the time and he was hungry for a Cup. 3- Ryan Miller- Kind of the same as above. 4- Federov- Aside from the drama, the dude was such a huge part of their dynasty and obviously one of the best players of that generation. 5- Curtis Joseph- I've just never been a huge fan of the guy.

Datsyuk is a perenial Selke candidate who does it all while providing highlight reel goals. He may never win a Hart, but I would rather have him on the ice for any situation than Ovi, Malkin or Kovi.

Great signing. Good job, Kenny! -
You still may be able to pick up a customized CCM jersey for a decent price on Sportsk.com, too.

Man, Versus is going to explode... who is going to win their media buttf*** love... Thornton or Kesler?
-
Jiri Hudler is the WORST player in the NHL.

"If Joe Thornton isn't the best player in the world, he's got to better than the top 3 combined." -Versus

Can't control pucks bouncing all over their garbage ice.

Too bad it was all overshadowed by Shane Doan simply dressing today. These National Broadcast f***fests have to stop. It's bad enough that the officiating is terrible, but to have these yahoos clearly rooting for the other teams is a bunch of biased bulls***.

Big game tonight against a tough team! Keep rolling! Go Wings!

I can definitely respect the irony of this situation, but get over it. Hossa was no more absent than anyone else on the Red Wings squad was during any given stretch throughout the postseason. Would he really be under this much scrutiny if they had have lost to Columbus, Anaheim or Chicago or anyone else in the East? It's a good thing Kenny Holland is calling the shots for this organization and not a bunch of knee-jerk pissed off fans. I trust him to do what's right, if he stays, hell yeah, if not, thank you for your services Mr. Hossa. Oh, and this guy was a big factor in why Pittsburgh got where they did last year which can be attributed to their success this year. Stay classy, Pittsburgh.

I don't post on here much. . . Being a passionate sports fan is like being in an abusive relationship, no matter how many times you get beat up and hurt, you keep coming back for more. I agree with the OP 100%. I've actually lost sleep over these finals, which is unhealthy considering the fact that the worse possible outcome happened and I woke up this morning and will continue to live my life. It's just part of the territory of being a sports fan. Whether they miss the playoffs, fizzle out early or lose in game 7, once the sting goes away, you're ready to give it another run the following season. With all of that being said, in reference to another point he made about witnessing the wings go to 6 Finals and winning 4, we're spoiled fans. How many other teams can say they've been given what the Wings have given us fans in the last 20 years? Everyone needs to sit back and reflect on it. I'm just as pissed off, and more baffled than anything about the way they finished off these last 2 games, but life goes on. Stop blaming Hossa, Stuart, Sammy, Bettman, the officials and whoever else anyone wants to throw under the bus and accept the fact that the Wings came up short, but at the end of the day, you still love them and will be ready for this ride again come next season.

It all depends on which Wings team shows up on Friday, they have been plagued by inconsistency throughout the playoffs, and tonight's play after the clinic they put on Saturday is a fine example. I'm just stating the obvious when I say this, everything is off in game 7's. They can play their hearts out and fall victim to a bad call, a bad bounce or anything else out of their control. They backed themselves into this corner and hopefully they have enough left to survive, more than 10 minutes of effort in that game will be a good start. My theory going into game 6 tonight is they have 2 chances to win one game, and if they can't do it, than they don't deserve it. They have a lot of pissed off and anxious fans to prove wrong, lets hope they can muster up one more good performance.

I keep waiting for him to wake up, I'm not seeing it happen, it's almost like it's just becoming a distraction for him and the rest of the team. I'm not throwing him under the bus because he is a big part of why they are where they are, but there is something in his head and it's affecting those around him, too.
