I think Hudler or Kopecky, it's better we get Calder off if his hand is busted. I think Hudler has had more of a presence on the ice as a player than kopecky this year, granted hudler has gained steam toward the end of the year while kopecky has been injured. I think maybe it wouldn't hurt to get kopecky in for a game and see what happens and if adding Kopecky doesn't work, add Hudler back and drop Kopecky. Seems like Babcock likes to experiment with lines and this may be what he is doing here. He hasn't done us wrong so far, so i assume he is making a calculated move here that none of us have enough insider info to make. Babcock seems like the most qualified guy to make these decisions and i haven't seen him make a huge mistake by experimenting yet. I say give Kopecky a shot (even though i initially disagreed) and if kopecky is a wash, or doesn't play right throw Hudler in and let him play his game.

Anaheim doesn't dominate the play in some situations like San Jose did. I don't think San Jose flopped, i think the wings figured out what needed to be done to shut down SJ. They need to shift gears and figure out how to shut down Anaheim. I bet the wings take one and lose one at both the game in ahaheim and then take the next two games to kill the series in 6 just like they did the last series. The wings are a very adaptive team and they can learn this anaheim team.

i didn't have that problem, but i agree. VS is lame. I'd rather watch the games on FSN and get pre and post game coverage. Not to mention the dumb saying the announcers on there come up with are irritating.

I agree that the officiating in this series has been horrible so far. The play the ducks have displayed is exactly the play the league was seeking to stop with these new rules. San Jose was a far better team and played a better game than Anaheim. Anaheim is just better at bending the rules and making the calls go their way or against their opponents. Overall they play a cheap game.

i've shaved mine after each round in an attempt to look somewhat presentable haha. Speaking of playoff beards, Cleary's makes him look homeless when you throw that black eye in there!

I'm kind of suprised they are just throwing kopecky back into the mix right away considering we haven't seen him since december as opposed to putting hudler in. I'm not opposed to it though, hopefully this will pay off.

yeah, don't forget that bert was pretty dang cheap. It will take a lot to make the initial move in acquiring him look bad. As for calder, i agree. i haven't seen much out of him and it appears that hudler might serve the team better right now, but i'm not the coach, and i'm not the one watching these guys practice day in and day out. I'll leave that stuff to babcock.

I agree with you on the various points you made. That goal was utter crap. It's too bad that the referees couldn't call a penalty worth a damn...
-
exactly, you and i both know that if it were in the other end of the zone, the ref would have blown the whistle as soon as he saw giguere touch the puck and i have witnessed it several times throughout this season. The refs were absolutely terrible this game and last. Kinda reminds me of the last game of the edmonton series last year where edmonton scored the game winner off a high stick...

how about that lilja roughing call? that was not nearly as bad as the stuff the ducks were doing as a normal part of the game. either don't call garbage like that, or call everything that resembles it. The wings did play some piss poor hockey at times, but the officiating was just horrid once again. I feel the wings are still up against not only a decent team, but the refs as well. The refs just don't call ANYTHING consistently... No use complaining about it i suppose. On to game 3 where hopefully we can get some less biased officiating. Oh, and by the way, goaltender interference seems to not be called, so i say bert and homer start taking runs at giguere. Just a thought...

Oh, I didn't realize that, but i notice someone posted this same vid in a downloadable format in the Inglewood Jack post. I ran across it on youtube on the sidebar when i was watching the perry cheapshot on chelios vid on youtube.

perry is a tool

Perry is a tool and i hope he does something stupid. I just hope no one gets hurt. Don Cherry is usually pretty good though.
-
Perry is a loser and i hope he gets whats comin to him next game. Running into chelios like that was cheap as hell and was a poor way to try and get a penalty drawn. It's a shame that the refs won't do their job out there...

The most incredible part of the game is how much obstruction the Anaheim D got away with when the wings would dump it into the zone. Not to mention the few jabs to the head when macdonald was trying to do a snow angel on top of hasek in the 1st and then someone on the wings got called for something stupid. Most of the penalties against the ducks were glaringly obvious calls. It seems like it has been this way the whole playoffs for the wings. Not only are the wings playing against another hockey team, but they are playing against the refs too... Compare calls side by side and the wings get called for more penalties that didn't affect the play at all and shouldn't be penalties in the first place than the ducks. The ducks get called for things that should be obvious and a 4th grader could call. Somehow the refs seem to miss chelios getting cheap shot and perry's embelishment in order to try and get a call on someone. Somehow the refs also missed macdonald punching chelios, as they missed lebda getting punched. It's pretty obvious most of the refs are going to call bad calls against the wings and not against whoever the wings are playing. for whatever reason they have a rooting interest against the wings. I find it incredible that so far the wings have overcome these cheap calls by the refs and have made it this far!
