Well maybe it is too early to say this, and I'm not going to hold my breath for it to be true, but it seems Mr. Hull wasn't and ******* during the pregame so maybe he wont be in the intermissions...maybe And he even said some decent things about the Wings and the fans too! Maybe NBC is keeping him on a leash now or something...or maybe he is saving up his dickness for the intermissions.

I think if the Wings went East then they would lose their edge down the road, if you ask me the West has by far the better teams. There was also an idea that was being thrown around by some players and the likes over the corse of the lockout going along the lines that every team would play every team at least once. I think this is a great idea, but Bettman and a bunch of his owner buddies said no, basicaly because the owners were bitching that all the team travel would cut into their profits. to that I say Boo the f*** Hoo. They are still driving better cars and living in better homes than I ever will, and they own a professional hockey team! They can watch hockey all the time and be arund the game, but thats right it's not about the sport or the history of the origanial 6 playing one another in some of the best games ever, it's all about the investment.

Well here is some food for thought... Chicago, they are best know for being Cubs fans, even though they have one of the original 6 teams. And when you say United Center in Chicago most people think the Bulls. I find that it is very hard to find a hockey fan when you are not in or are in close proximity to a big hockey town. Like Detroit, or pretty much any team in Canada.

So how may times did we have a 5 on 3 power play and we couldn't capitalize? We really need to do something about this Christ its pathetic. Our penalty kill has beed pretty good though that last Power Play goal they scored was a beauty, great set up by the Ducks. But 5 on 3!!! How many times did we not score on that? That is the thing that we have to work on the most I think.

This is a little off the topic but it relates...so Dan Celary had a goal, an assist, and would we call that punch to the face he gave to the Duck a fight...I think Cleary got a Gordie Howe hat trick. Thoughts?

I realize this too it's just that I want something equally bad to happen to him after him refusing to admit it was cheap. This may be another thread all together, and it really doesn't matter this point in the season but; Who do you think is dirtier, Nashville, or Anaheim? I still maintain that Nashville is just a bunch of goons and the town of Nashville TN doesn't need a hockey team. That and they were too busy hitting the hell out of the Sharks to actually score enough goals to advance...but sometime Anaheim can be just as bad.

If you want to talk about Ozzy v Dom then you have to look at the good with the bad. Some people here don't really want to admit that Dom has had some great games, and far fewer s***ty ones. This may ge deflected as being a helper for the "Stats Goalie" idea, but he has two shutouts in this string of playoffs, if I am not mistaken of which I am sure. Ozzy is certainly capable and I feel pretty comfortable with him backing up Dom. But hell if you ask Luc Robitalle who played whith him Dom is the reason the Wings made it this far, and I am inclined to agree. Also I went to my first ever NHL game this season, and saw the Wings and the Hawks at the United Center. This would be the game where we lost in a shoot-out, and failed to sweep the season series with the Hawks. Ozzie was in the goal and let in some pretty bad ones during that game. And me myself being a goalie I know that we are all entitled to our off nights, but that one was a pretty bad performance if you ask me, and i beleive that Dom has far fewer nights like that. If Dom comes back next year I will be thrilled, if Ozzie ends up as the No1 I still think we have a great chance at going places next season, it just may require a bit better offensem and everyone would have to work a little harder.

Yes their PP goals came on great screens, but when I said working too hard on the PP I meant ours.

Thats fine that you dissagree, and Gigurre was doing very well I will agree to that, but I do think Hasek was working way too hard on the PP all the way around.

Looks like they don't need Pronger to beat us, and he took a cheap shot so deal with it it's over and done. I only saw the replay once but was it Bert that left his feet and hit a Duck? And did he hit him in the head? either way it it should have been called, and if he did get him in the head he should be suspended too. If you suspend one player when he injures a guy with a head shot you need to do the same even if he isn't injured, that is the only way to take those out of the game. But, if he didn't hit the head...then it was just a penalty that the refs missed. I wonder if Burke will ***** about that...

Nyttermeyer may have held him to the boards, But Pronger is the one who HIT HIM IN THE HEAD!!! Pronger has been in the NHL long enough to know better... The more I hear justifacations about the hit from the Ducks the more I want to sink to their level, and have Chelly play dentist and fix Prongers teeth with his fist.

See, I think the reason Brys got put in stems from the hit Gigurre took when he defender got dumped on him early in the first, and they were down 3 goals why risk your starting goalie when the Wings were bringing it like they did? And it also sent a message to the Ducks to get at it more too. I must say i felt bad for Brys after out 5th goal, he looked so down on himself, and nobody gould have saved that game, not with the way the offense was playing. Anyway, I think Gigurre will be back in for 4.

See, cheap shots are a long way from being taken out of the game, unfortuneatley thats how it is. However, fighitng is something that should never be taken out. An Enfrocer is a legitimate position on the ice, they stop these things from happening. The reason Bettman wants to take fighting out is so the casual viewer won't see Hockey as a brutal sport, you know do away with the old joke, "I went to a fight, and a Hockey game broke out." However, looking at a hit like that I would think drives more casual fans away than a fight would. Furthermore, the people who are alway bitching about fighting in the NHL don't watch it. They only see things like the Pronger hit and the "Brawl in Hockeytown" on ESPN and think, "How barbaric." But if you had an enforcer like Kocur or Probert people like Pronger or Tootoo or Perry would think twice before trhing to take a player like Homer out. I mean s***! Stevie Y was never on the ice without his personal bodygaurd Probert, and how many times did anyone get away with messing around with The Captain? Almost never. Lastly, those people who look at fighting in the NHL and think, "How barbaric," don't grasp the concept of the enforcer, and to tell the truth, since they don't understand and are passing jugement, and only see one or two games a year or just some highlights on ESPN...I don't want them watching my sport. We have enough rabid fans to make up for the..."Well football is over, and baseball isn't on, so I guess I will watch Hockey." fans anyway.

Amen 19forprez, amen. These professional athletes are professional no matter what sport they are playing, and should act accordingly. Moreso, they should be looking out for one another professional atheletes are professional because they are elites in their field. Much like astronauts are few, because they are the best for their jobs. Or doctors at say...Mayo clinic. And seeing as how these athletes are elite at their fields, there should be mutual respect, and not some bogus attempts at taking each other out of the field.

The wheels just fell off for Buffalo, no dowbt about that. I would rater see the Sens play the Wings in the end seeing as how I have those two teams going to the finals in my bracket, but also because I think it would be a much better series.
