I agree hits like these need to be taken out of the game, and I think you need to start suspending and fining players as well. As far as that other incident in the NBA, its horrible too. I remember when Jordan played that sport there was none of that s***. And the NFL? As much as I try not to romember the Packer Dynasty years you didn't see guys stomping on each other's faces. Didn't one athlete retire from the NFL saying he wanted to be treated like a man and he was tired of playing with little kids? Cheap shots just suck all the way around, and in the world of U.S. sports they all need to be dealt with alot better. And it's not that Pronger out for the game is going to hurt the Ducks anymore that we already are going to. If you remember correctly we still shut them out with him on the ice for the rest of the game.

Thats ok I I love it when they say Nicklas LINstrom instead of LIDstrom. But the cake taker was this guy at the sports bar yesterday who said one of the people was wearing an Ezerman jersey, photetically spelled it was Easerman. And he said he was a fan in the dynasty years...

Cheap shots are cheap shots, if the high stick to the face was intentional I would say suspend Maltby as well. Physical hockey is great, using enforcers to fight others to keep your star players from getting killed that fine too, enforcers know what they are getting into. But cheap shots are cheap no matter who does them and to whom. Little off topic: I still can't beleive the back up goalie for the Flames, (his name escapes me for the moment) only got 5 games. That is rediulous! If there is intent to injure like in that case, or Pronger's you deserve to sit out and cool off for a bit longer. I would really hope it wasn't intent even if it was, like I said elsewhere a stiches and maybe a concussion are one thing but blinding a guy is completely different... Like I said in another thread, when it happended I wanted his head on a platter. But after I saw how Babs handled it and refused to play their game I thought it was a much better thing for us to do. But I also wonder did Babs know pretty early on that Homer wouldn't be out for a game and might return? And is that why we didn't bust a few heads? Also if the hit was like that bastard Claude Lemeuix's that spawned the "Brawl in Hockeytown" years later I would have said go for it! Everyone bring it, but you could see immedeatly after the hit that it was not near as bad as the one that Draper sustaned. Overall, I think it was best for us to follow the course of action that we did after the hit. And if we really wanted to bring it we should have had Bert take on Perry, Perry was going to give it to Pavel and Sam in the first game and perry is used to getting into mismatched fights you know guys smaller than he...then again 9 times of 10 he gets his ass kicked by the guy he takes on.

I agree that we need to get a little revenge for it, but that high stick seemed to be really accidental not "accidental" like you suggested. But furthermore I would hope we wouldn't do it on pourpose, kicking a guys ass in a fight is one thing, but potentally blinding him is something completely different

I don't know if anyone posted this on this hit, I just got back from the bar I was watching the game at but: After the hit on Homer I was PISSED! I wanted someone to kill Pronger and Nytermeyer, someone like Bert. But I must say the way that Babcock held off and didn't get an unnessessary penalty it showed that we have more class than to go out a bruse them up as would the Preds. Either way I was glad to see us bring it on to Gigurre early on, and I was pleased when Homer got back on the ice. I thought it was a bit nuts when he did, but it is the playoffs and it was a great morale booster, go you Homer!

Were there enough to go around or were some people that were to the back of the line disippointed they didnt get the chance?

Like I said earlier I don't get Versus at home so I have to go to the bar, so I cant hear the commentary or anything of the sort...seems it might be better this way, And I do think they do a satisfactory job as well, but one of my pals said they were thinking about resurecting that late 90's idea of a puck tracer...that would upset me greatly I hated that thing.

Well you know the idea behind the beard is you start growing it once you get a playoff birth...not in the middle of the playoffs. Also, you can trim it to try and change the luck of the team, but you dont shave it. I have one right now for the team, here is to hoping I don't have to shave it off until june!

I must say that I am not worried about splitting at the Arrowhead Pond, or the Honda center or whatever the hell they are calling it now for the smple reason that I beleive hands down Canadian fans are louder, and louder more often than anything the Ducks fans can muster, and we did beat the Flames at the Saddledome. Also, how often is it really that you see teams going undefeated at home in the playoffs in any series?

You say that we manhandled you on your PP's? I didn't get to start watching until the start of the second period, and from what I could see early in the period was that your PK was killing us. Come on guys, the Ducks were playing pass and catch out there it was sad. However, momentum did change when we had that 5-on-3, and that's when the coming and going ties started. Oh, and one more thing. I would like to beleive that Wing fans aren't nearly as rude and obnoxious as Yankee fans, so how about we compare ourselves to Iowa Hawkeye fans?

I'm not going to ***** about the goal it counted so be it it happens to every team. However, I must say I think play was dead before Hasek got pushed in, then again I couldn't hear anything because I don't have Versus thus, I had to watch it at a sportsbar. But i do want to ask one thing of Disney is GONE. How is it Hasek did not have posession of the puck if he was laying on top of it? Granted Hasek has a very unorthodox style, but that is how he usualy makes his stops. I think if the goalie is covering the puck by a pad, or a trapper, or his body especially in the case of Hasek play is dead.

I did notice this and pointed it out to everyone who was watching the game with me how he was really moving. Especially when he almost took the puck from Gigurre behind the net, I beleive it was in the 2nd?
