2010 Winter Olympics - Sweden vs Germany (Group C)
Krystal replied to redwings8831's topic in General
I'd like to see Kronwall come out and smack around the Curling dudes get 'em over with already. -
I can get behind that. I'd love to see the girls get to play gritty out there, instead of the powderpuff 'don't touch me!' style that they're restricted to now. 5-on-3 for Canada right now. Poor Sweden, they're getting crazy frustrated out there right now.

This is nothing short of absolute rape x_x and it's not even half over. Canada is just beastly.

Well get pumped then babe I'm under the impression that if he passes up on his medical clearance today he'll be suiting up against Ottawa. -
ZOMFG MEECH?!?!?!

Jesus Jimmy is giving away more rubber than planned parenthood tonight... x_x

WOO!!!

I love the Hockey Canada PSA commercials they had on NHL Network a few years back
-
I saw it and got pictures with it here in Kansas City down on the Plaza... but I refused to touch it. I didn't wanna give the Wings bad mojo... we were headed into the '02 post-season Now I'm convinced if I'd have touched the cup we'd have lost.

Good mojo flowin' for tonight... just got my custom jersey in the mail from my brother out in Germany as a belated Christmas gift. Ironic, he bought me a ladies sweater and I've NEVER worn a womens jersey.. so the fit feels awkward by comparison to my normal one.

Canada just ended that game with Latvia with a score of 15-0... total decimation.

That sounds like a question for your provider. I had to do a hard reset on my box one day because the weather had gotten trippy on me and all of a sudden I went to turn on NHL Network to catch a Wings game and it told me it was unavailable. I called them, gave 'em my address to confirm I'd paid for the service and they had to reset the signal for me but it picked up fine afterwards. Unfortunately, it sounds like you're in one of those hockey "dead zones" where there's no team "close enough" to warrant it being a 'local' team (Though I'm on the opposite side of Missouri and the Blues games are always blacked out on CI) and the question then is if your provider will even carry the NHL Network or Center Ice at all. But I'd start with your local Dish Network provider. I believe they do NOT carry Versus due to some money issues between them and the parent cable network Comcast, but elsewise you should still be eligible for Center Ice or NHL Network. You may need to take a closer look at your so-called 'sports package'. Time Warner here in Kansas City offers a 'Sports Package' but it ONLY includes NHL Network.. along with some of the out-of-area Fox Sports spinoffs. It doesn't cover over premium packages like Center Ice, NFL Sunday Ticket, etc.

The only thing I worry about is that he doesn't wind up catching the flu, mono, etc while he's recovering. His body will expend so many resources to repair any tissue damage, bruising, etc that he'll be left more vulnerable to getting sick. I wound up with a 3-week case of strep throat while my body was trying to recoup its losses in the bruising on my leg/hip when I got into my accident. Hopefully his musculature will prevent too much of that happening.

I've had a similar experience xD but he's in infinitely better shape than I was just playing volleyball in high school. He'll be sore, but as long as it was a lower speed collision he'll just be rockin' the mental advantage over his opponents. "s***, he got hit by a car and got up? Yeah no.. I can't take him"
-
They were saying during the game that they'd had a history of fighting each other in the past - and apparently were nominated for 'feud of the year'. Barch wound up calling May (I think?) and trying to swamp the polls so they'd win

I don't necessarily think it's people dwelling on the past. I personally find it exciting to watch this kid who couldn't quite crack the ranks of the Detroit D make a name for himself elsewhere. I thought he looked fantastic in the season opener with Colorado vs San Jose and while it bums me that he isn't getting a chance to play here with us I'm extremely happy for him where he is and that he's allowed the ice time to flourish.

Woo! Absolutely awesome. Pav continues to amaze me with his stick handling, if he dekes and swerves through another 4 Caps I might have to file for divorce and go stalk him. Seriously.

Actually I think I was more sad and upset when we lost to the Ducks in '07 than I am right now. After that 2nd goal I just threw my hands up. I didn't know what else to do... and then I laughed. A lot. Like a mentally unstable hysteria.. And bless my husband's heart, when he thought we scored off that crossbar I just laughed even louder. Ahh wings.. we need to post a clock in your bench that always reads it's 5 minutes left in the 3rd. Then maybe you'll play all game long..

I give Ozzie many MANY props this post season He was epic. I just wish we could have lifted that cup at the end.

The Red Wings learned tonight that the casual coasting to a 3rd period bail out is NOT the way to win hockey games. I love my Wings, I really do but the effort wasn't even there the 2nd half of the 1st period, or the ANY of the 2nd.. save for like, 2 minutes there at the end. Props to the Penguins, they beat us to the puck.. they skated harder, fought harder, and won the battles. Detroit just made too many mistakes out there. I don't know what it is, I won't speculate who's hurt and who's just plain sucking right now. Tonight it was Pittsburgh > Detroit. Wish it hadn't gotten this far.. but it did. So good job Pittsburgh, and we'll see what happens next year. We'll be in the playoffs... will you?

Win it for our guys who are sitting on the sidelines because they strove for the best and sacrificed for this team to get to where we are tonight! Lilja, Kopecky, and the guys like Nick and Pav who are battling through injuries to scrape and earn the very last win of the 2008/2009 season. Win it for Kenny, who's done the best he can to keep the core of this fantastic team in tact. Win it for those bastards who all say you're too old too!

I wish my brother could come over for the game, but he has to work from 5-11. I haven't had an epic Stanley Cup party since we won in '02. /sigh
-
I did similar to that when the Ducks won in '07... but my gut tells me we win on home ice tomorrow. IF.. by some freak accident.. we lose? I'm already going on a week long camping trip a week from Saturday In which there will be a steady flow of alcohol. So, I'm pretty well set.

Why does our post number keep getting lower? That's ridonkulous!
