Add to the "Good" that not only did Chara win the Hardest Shot competition, but he went and gathered up the rest of the folks participating and raised a $25,000 pot to go to the winner of the competition's charity of their choice. They were saying how all the guys and the league reps were totally for it - and then after putting it all together, Chara won it for his charity. Bad - I must say, I missed the relay from years past. It was kinda bland in some places, but high spots with the guys in the Breakaway contest helped keep up the positive pace in my house. Not too many patches of dead "omg - seriously?" goin' on.

This was stated earlier in the thread, but had no link supporting the info. That leads me to believe the loophole was - in fact - made in that conference call. When that call happened.. I don't know, but up until Thursday or so, Crosby wasn't going to attend at all. Well long enough for the guys to be either home, overseas with their families, maybe taking a small vacation with their wives/kids.. I know I wouldn't be spending a week off work sitting in front of my computer checking out TSN.ca to see news on the All-Star game I'd be enjoying myself, and I'd be very disappointed in a league that'll make spur of the moment decisions for someone who wants to skip the All-Star game (just like myself and my teammate - all of whom are injured in some capacity) but they'll let him merely attend to avoid a suspension when we're not given that luxury until the absolute last minute. It should have been answered to Pittsburgh that they can't amend the rules for Crosby if he doesn't play.. -OR- allow the lapse in the rules to prevent the suspension, but to also negate suspensions for Dats and Lids because the option to just attend wasn't given to them in a timely fashion. It's like pulling someone over for speeding - WHILE the cops are switching the speed limit signs. Nobody knows they're changing it, except the people in charge.. and they can determine who to f*** and who to let slide.

Yeah, damn Osgood sitting his ass on the bench and not between the pipes where a goalie belongs (The previous statement is a product of failure to denote sarcasm in quoted post ) Absolutely awful 3rd period, I couldn't even watch it. Franzen being out was bad enough, but dropping Stuart early and then losing out on Dats definitely threw a curve ball that they just were NOT prepared to deal with. It's something they need to address - because what happens if this were to occur in the post-season? You can't hang your entire team on one forward like Pav and then let the defense lapse and just throw the blame on Stuart's absence. Hate the break in the action, but I'll be glad for this All-Star Break so our boys can rest up and we can get our lines figured out.

I know I've heard Bon Jovi - Livin' on a Prayer played a few times (usually towards the tail end of a game, during a TO). I've never been to the Joe before though, so outside that I couldn't tell ya.

My concern is Johan - I'm hoping it's a Meech-style "injury" and nothing more. I thought I saw him take a slight limp going back at the end of the 2nd, guess I was right. We don't play again until Tuesday in Phoenix, so hopefully that'll get him back into the lineup and we can throw in Meech instead of Lebda, or someone out there. Something just absolutely was NOT clicking on that back line. I don't know what it was. Those two breakaway goals KILLED us.

I know Calder got the Charging call, but Ken and Murph were commenting on how McCreary was -right there- and wasn't the one who called it, the ref at center ice did. I think that's where the question is coming from. I, however, like McCreary very much. ^-^
