Oh man.. my Time Warner just exploded.. I don't have access to anything above and beyond the basic cable package. No high end channels, no center ice, no NHL network. Absolutely nothing. And I'm trying to call in and ask 'wtf?' but it's telling me about a 30-60 minute wait. So I might be looking for a sopcast feed but then, CI would probably feed me the Nashville feed, so sopcast might be a better alternative anyway even if my cable DOES come back. Come on boys! Win it for me, especially if I wind up fighting my cable company all night long. Play hard and play SMART!

Part One - I didn't realize this until I was checking out Hank's website.. but I was in attendance for his 20th goal (his first 20+ goal season) at my one and only regular season NHL game. It was in St. Louis back in 03... it was phenomenal. Part Two - I usually get Wings games if I head across state to St. Louis. I got crazy s*** for it when I was over there, but I was also still in high school and with my family (most of whom were dressed in St. Louis jerseys) so nothing was started out of it. Though my dads best friend lives outside St Louis and we constantly give each other a random body check if we're walking past each other. He's die-hard for anything St. Louis. We get the random pre-season game in KC... but it never concerns Detroit. We get teams like Nashville, Florida, Chicago.. etc. They swear they're trying to get Detroit to play a pre-season game here. I doubt it. I always wear my Wings jersey, just like some of my other KC hockey brethren always wearing their colors (the Bruins guy, my parents friend who's always got a Panthers jersey on, etc)

I don't think it's that.. he did just get over being sick. They probably didn't want to push him too hard and risk him re-catching his illness he gave to Lilja I know when I came down with that nasty flu bug this winter, even though I "felt better" the next day, I still took it crazy easy for a week just to give my body time to catch up with me.

I would put in a serious complaint to your cable company. Mine had NO problem offering me NHL Network for free during my Center Ice package. Now if I choose to not get the Playoff package, then I'll also lose NHL Network at that time (and can purchase it as a stand alone channel). But they never mentioned/threatened to make me pay extra. Infact, they were unaware that Center Ice games were blacked out if the game was being presented on NHL-N. I think it's bad enough that people can't access NHL Network and get jipped out of games. It's even worse for your cable provider to pull that kind of a bait and switch and force you to pay extra.

And to clarify my previous question/dilemma... apparently having the local FSN-Midwest feed (boo!) it's blacked out NHL Network.. which according to a friend of mine in MI is broadcasting FSN-D! /sighs Oh well, Wings with s***ty announcing is better than no Wings at all. Come on boys!

I understand it's frustrating for people who subscribed to Center Ice that the games are being pulled when shown on the NHL Network, and I understand the reason behind the heated submissions to the NHL, but I don't think they can re-work it to broadcast for the people who's local cable provider refuses to carry the NHL Network. I highly doubt each regional market would want to go through the motions of having their stuff reconfigured unfortunately. My cable company decided to carry NHL Network. When I pointed out the discrepancy to them about how I was losing games out of my Center Ice package to the new channel, they immediately apologized and worked over a Sunday to get my broadcast fixed. (I even managed to get someone who knew what hockey was, and what the network was without too much hassle!) However, I haven't watched NHL Network for games in a long.. LONG time. I don't remember - do they show it via FSN? Or do they do their own feed with their own commentary? I have the option of watching it on NHL Network, or watching it on FSN Midwest (St. Louis announcers... FTL!) I just want to know if there'd be a difference in watching on either channel as far as the announcers are concerned? Does anyone happen to know?

Not that we haven't had our share of bad calls - but I recall in every sport I've EVER played, coach drilled us into the ground to not stop playing until you hear a whistle. Same principles ought to apply to that last goal, as well as San Jose's flukey goal off the mesh in the last game. Guys need to step up and keep going until that whistle blows or theres a ref pulling you off of somebody.

I'm also enjoying Stuart's work tonight. A lot of people were pretty shady after seeing his +/- with L.A.. but nobody on that team had a good +/- to help each other out If Babs and Kenny don't raise hell.. we ought to. That's absolutely ridiculous. How does a puck potentially being out of play NOT become important enough to review? I know (as someone said) the chances are slim but when they DO happen.. it should be a big enough deal to review. Especially when it turns into a goal, and at this point - the potential game winner. And if Sammy is the only person on our team who can score.... God save us all!

Good to know I wasn't the only one who got a huge kick out of that My mom's a Colorado fan, so she's pretty excited. I'm disappointed thus far.. but we'll see what happens.
