they looked tired in the 2nd, but had their legs back in the 3rd. you can't contain crosby/malkin forever, they're gonna get breakaways. they're the penguins. we've done a great job minimizing them over the course of four games. i'll be worried if game 5 slips away

Pretty much the entire hockey community, that's who. The Hawks had a great year from game one and were expected to do well with their talent. Maybe eight months ago, the writer was too busy covering football.

taking a more existensial approach.....this phenemenon seems to have wings (pun intended) in the daily life outside of sports. it's been my observation for some time now, that nobody takes responsiblitiy for their shortcomings. if something gets messed up, take the blame and fix it. it seems that the new conventional wisdom is to shift blame away so that that entity or person is a 'perfect victim' of an outisde circumstance. in this case, officiating, cheating, nhl conspiracy, alien abduction, etc.... it sickens me. what i told my duck fan neighbors was that if their team had only scored a few more goals, they would have won the series.

I don't think it's a playoff issue as much as it's an old-vs-new nhl issue. You can call any number of offenses every time a team skates end to end, it's just a matter of what should be called consistently

If you're Babs, you gotta love that you're in a position to let these guys rest. On virtually any other team, he'd have to try to play Lids and Dats tonight. He's gotta love that versatility his depth gives him.

you already live with the embarassment of being shut out in the first two SCF games last year, that's a great start to a dynasty and speaking of arrogance.....a pens troll creating an inflammatory thread during CONFERENCE FINALS....um, well....delete oh oh, and the embarassment of MAF scoring the stanley cup winning goal on HIMSELF....oh, and when the camera caught him coming out of the tunnel on game 1, tripping, and eating s*** onto the ice in front of all of JLA oh, oh, oh, oh....AND the embarassment of having Cindy being completely shut down and reduced to a non-factor in the SCFs yeah, y'all are off to a stellar start
