I'm not for trading Smith, and I think he will grow into what he is expected to be, but I would be happy to see his precious minutes reduced or see him ride the pine next game. It may be true we win as a team and lose as one as well but if you were to see the weak point to be fixed Smith is it on D. Waaaaaay to many huge mistakes for the kid.

I said Danny D simply because he came straight out of College and was thrown into the fire on a team already loaded with Rookie's and he made an immediate impact... maybe not a huge impact but not many players can make the jump and be a positive factor. I'm assuming he will only get bigger, stronger and better.

I don't think Scotty was really well "liked" either for alot of the same reasons... he was very well respected and listened to though and that is what is required. Dave Lewis seemed to be opposite and had basically the same team Scotty did but crashed the team hard when it mattered.... Used to drive me insane to see Lewis on the bench emotionless and saying nothing, i wondered if he even had a mouth at times. Babcock is proving right now just how good of a coach he is! Keep on 'em Babs!

Didn't know much about him before he signed here but I agree he's been pretty solid. Keep up the good work Carlo.

1st season in North America, more games and travel then he's had to endure before, 1st NHL play off experience, he started on a high, exerienced some lows and he is improving with every game. Sign him, he is a keeper and he is a part of a wicked 3rd line with the potential for alot more. I'm a Brunner fan.

The kids has been awful but to trade him ASAP is incredibly drastic. He's pissed me right off as well... I may ask for him to be benched but not traded. He is learning some valuable lessons and seeing how responds and grows will be what to watch for. I believe he will develop in what we are all hoping for but not everyone can step in and make a difference like Dekeyser. I think we all need to have some patience and faith... even when he is stinking up the place, he's a rookie after all.

Makes me sick to say it but Game 1 - Periods 2 and 3 sure did look that way. We were hanging on for dear life. We have alot of experience behind us but we really have alot of inexperience on the ice and it shows. If we can hold it together and stick to the plan for 60 minutes we can beat the Hawks but we will need our young players to grow with each game and not make the same mistakes.... I feel I could have played a better game then Smith, that guy couldn't clear our zone if he were the only player on the ice last game. GO WINGS!

What an embarassment! How many mistakes can Smith make in one game? He was just awful! I have zero confidence in that guy... please someone teach him how to clear the zone, please. I think I would add Tootoo next game, probably sit Bert.

Lol what's the other dimension to his game? Coasting? Facewashing? Lame TV commercials?

Come on... he had the best seat in the house on that goal. I'm sure he was just enjoying the view

Hardly, 1 guy is a 1 dimensional player.... sometimes, if he feels like it. The other is valuable with or without the puck and has proven this everywhere he's been. Its no contest Hossa >>>> Mule

We should bench the power play units for not scoring (or even shooting the little black round thing at the meshy thing where the guy in big cushions was hanging out) with all that consecutive power play time before we bench Jimmah.

As much as I would to see Bertuzzi in I think Babs should stick to the current winning recipe until a change is warranted... Berts been out all season and would be getting up to game speed in playoff games, just doesnt sound like a good idea. Keep Sammy on the shelf as long as possible.... his sore pectoralus might aggrevate itself if he gets off the shelf!

Hoss not only contributes offensively but a an amazing defensive player as well and has consistently played this way no matter what teams he is on or who he plays with... Franzen vanishes for a while, then plays some (after having "a fire lit under him") and then will vanish again and then push players from behind some and maybe give some face washes while running his mouth. To me there is no comparison between the 2... I pick Hoiss every time

Kills me too. Why do they always have to be a shortened version of their name.... Why not something out of left field that no-one can explain? Squeege is that name. He won;t know why, but he will grow to love it when the entire JLA is shouting "SQUEEGE SQUEEGE SQUEEGE" while he is beating the crap out of someone

I had a good laugh at this too.... poor poor Sammy with his sore sphinctoral muscle. He should be embarassed! Remember Stevie wincing in pain everytime he got up off the ice that one season and still was a productive player? Remember Duncan Keith losing a bunch of teeth and only missing a few shifts? Come on Sammy, be a man!

He has a great shot and isn't shy about it. I like the way he and Andersson are looking. How about a pure speed & energy line when/if Helm ever gets back: Nyquist-Helm-Tootoo that would overwhem any 3rd line in the league... speed, energy, great shooter, toughness and defense all great elements

Only 1 man could take the #1 spot from Babcock... Scott Bowman! I didn't think anyone could follow Bowman, Babcock has come a close 2nd.
