Have to agree with you on this one... It wasn't all Howards fault but his soft goals were terrible and at the worst times possible. If he improves he could become what we hope but he needs to learn to control those gigantic rebounds, close that 5 hole and stop scrambling so much around the crease. We'll see next year!

I'd like to see a Hasek/Howard tandem! Howard would have gotten tutoring from both Hasek and Osgood and we could actually throw in a goalie that would win his games when given the chance.... Hasek might even be able to snag the lead role from Howard, who knows?!

For me its always been Wings or bust! If the Wings aren't in it then I cheer for no-one. I will watch, I enjoy a good hockey game, and there's no doubt that the Sharks vs Hawks series will be a good one but i really couldn't care less who wins just so long as they beat the hell out of each other. EDIT: Never mind... I hate the Hawks and I hope they lose

How about a relity TV series "Survivor NHL: Hero's vs Villan's" or better yet "Real World: NHL" where they all get to live in the same house and see what shinanegans happen... now that would be TV worth talking about!

I don't think either Crosby or Ovechkin should be taking more or less of the blame then anyone else on their team. 1 player can make a difference but in the end the whole team has to win or lose together! Both Crosby and OV have to face every other teams best and they have to find ways to solve that... neither did this year.

Go live in Quebec and see if you have the same thoughts after living there! They don't consider themselves as a part of our great country so why should we? On another side note... wait until the winner of the Eastern Conference (doesn't matter who it is) meets the winner of the Western Conference (doesn't matter who it is either) because I have a feeling the Western team will destroy the Eastern without too much trouble! Remove Halak's miraculous performance from Montreal's current play off run and they are swept in the 1st round!

They barely won the first 2 rounds and haven't won a thing yet! Quebecois continuously find new ways to make them selves look like assholes! Detroit is not known to be the safest city in America and I was there in 96 when we won the cup and millions of fans spilled into the streets... it was the happiest, friendliest mob of fans ever! No riots, no looting, no fighting, no burning just happy fun celebration by all.... and we won THE CUP! I lived there until recently and its not dying nealry as fast as you think... How and why? Stupid actions on the ice is how and why! If the calls seem to be coming more towards us then its up to the players not to give them any added reason to make the calls. It boils down to team discipline. So many ppl complain about Crosby being a whiner but all I am hearing since we lost to a hungrier team is LGW fans crying and complaining in fine Crosby fashion!

I do not believe in conspiracy theories for numerous reasons. This is not the WWF folks! This is a live and very fast game and so long as there are humans referee's there will be mistakes made, bad calls and possibly emotions involved in the decisions on the ice! If there is a conspiracy then its against every team.... listen to Vancouver, they are adament there is a conspiracy against them... every team has those who belive the league or Bettman is against them. Why the f*** would these players work so hard to be the best they can be to play in a league that is setup with pre-arranged outcomes? Instead of hockey schools and training camps there would be NHL acting colleges and performance art camps! Humans make mistakes, humans let their feeling and emotions get involved. It happens to all not just the Wings or the Canucks. Last year, while still in Montreal, I heard many frenchies talking about how its all been setup for the Canadiens to win it all bc it was theor 100 year anniversary... was all saw how well that theory worked out for them. I'm not making axcuses for bad calls or possible favouritism but but all I am saying that the flaw in the system is the human factor.

I was hoping to read "You improve your team by adding Jerome Iginla". IMHO Iggy would be perfect for this team. He'd add grit, leadership and scoring. He'd come at a cost but maybe with a few players coming off the pay, a trade and a bit of a Lidstrom pay reuction it could happen!?! I can hope anyway!

Has anyone found any news on Stuarts injury? Stuart has been a beast for us in the play offs and I hope he is alright and able to play next game! Any update would be appreciated.

Great news... thanks for the update. I've become a big fan of Stuarts and am happy to hear he is OK and ready to play!

Osgood's garbage when he did play helped Babcock make an easy decision to put in the goalie that will help get points on a team that was riddled with injuries to key players. Blame Osgood for putting the handcuffs on Babcock! Or Blame Howard for outplaying Osgood. How soon we forget the difficult position this team was in up until the Olympic break where we had to fight for evey point just to make the playoffs. There are plenty of teams who ride their best goalie more then Babcock rode Howard (Calgary, New Jersey, Vancouver to name a few). Why not THANK Babcock for making the right decision which allowed us to watch play off hockey this season? Why not THANK Babcock for doing nothing but winning since he has been here? ...and although you may not agree with how he coaches every aspect of the team why not look at the big picture through the lens of reality rather then through rosey red glasses!

This is a stupid suggestion... its not like Howard is losing the games for us alone. How about Don;t take stupid penalties as a solution? Putting in a guy who barely played all reg season, and played like crap when he did get in, hardly seem slike the right things to do? maybe if Howard was getting blown out but he isn't. so NO!

You are not alone my friend. I'm not normally fun to watch the playoffs with but its even worse when things like you mentioned above happen. How could 2 refs and 2 linesmen all miss Diving Devin Setoguchi's stick opening a gash on franzens face followed by a gorgeous swan dive? I Hate Setoguchi! I feel bad for the Sharks though... they hung on for a sketchy win after having a good rest while we just finished playing a hard fought 7 gamer.... wait until we get rested and back firing on all cylinders!

The Sens are terrible! I got a ticket to see that last game... was pretty excited because it was my first playoff game and the seats were awesome 4 rows off the ice close to the corner (right where the galss was hammered out twice). I was pumped to see Crosby, Malkin and Spezza do their thing live. Sorry for all those who hate Crosby but the kid is awesome, he was easily the best player out there and was a threat every time, he lead his team in every way and it was great to see him live! Malkin, Huge kid and a good player but in short spurts only. Spezza was a ghost until under 10 mins left in the game and the same could be said about Alfresson. The only player on the Sens worht mentioning was Chris Neil, feisty guy, agressive and sticks up for his teammates. There was really no competition and i kept wondering why the Sens were even in the playoffs. Half of the Pens goals were directly related to the Sens giving it to them... bad penalties, horrible turn overs and half of the players doing nothing!
