Well said and I agree with you. To the OP, I don't think I would pull the plug on Howard just yet. Rookie or not its game time, this is what he has spent all this time preparing for and now its his time to overcome the challenges offered in the playoffs. Everyone, even the great and powerful Oz was once a rookie and every goalie has had to be in this position. Howard needs to tighten his game and keep the team in it... and the rest of the team needs to follow.

I for one am happy with Bertuzzi and think he is looking great on his new line. We'd all like for him to be more physical but I think he has changed his game in order to remain healthy. Back problems are always there to be re-injured and trust me they are no fun to deal with. He can't be the bruiser he once was but I think he can still use his unique set of skill and size to drive to the net harder and more often. Having a successful season like this to build on is a great step on securing an important role and I hope he stays on with us and keeps re-establsihing himself in a new role. Keep it up Bertuzzi,lookin good!

I agree with you totally. Bertuzzi might get a mulligan due to his past back injuries, he might not be able to throw his weight like we'd all like to see in order to stay healthy and that deserves a pass from me so long as he is getting some points. Franzen, IMHO could be as dominant of a Power forward as Bertuzzi once was. He has everything except he is a 230 lbs puss? How can a man that big and strong not want to pound guy through the boards? Thats his only flaw I think. Ericsson needs to take Filpula to the local vet and get themselves a nice cycle of Decca Durbolin this off season. They need to add some muscle and strength to their frames, add a little roid rage and we will have to monsters!

This is true, Williams was a pile of garbage his first time around and he is still the same pile of garbage this time around. I am all for removing him from the equation and adding Abdelkader. However, We didn't lose because of Williams it was a combo of a weak PK and Brygalov that stopped us from winning.

The Zet-Fil-Bert line looks great. I think Berts always been streaky hasn't he? If he can keep building I would love to see him signed to short term deals especially if that line keeps coming together like they have been.... maybe the best 2nd line playing right now!

The new line combo's that have been put together looked pretty darn good last night. I especially liked the Fil-Zet-Bert line. The only negatives that stuck with me from last game was Rafalski's turn overs and all the juicy rebounds and mad scrambles by Howard in the crease. Things are starting to look like they are settling in... Keep it up boys!

I think this is why I don't like him, You nailed it! I really think he can play harder and better... I think its a big piss off that he doesn't. Same reason why I didn't like Lang. For a big man Lang played like a little girl and you know for a fact he is a big strong boy but it drove me nuts that he didn't play like it.

I think his turn over ended up in the net last night, if I remember correctly. I'm not anti Rafalski but I think he can clean up his game significantly. I'm not sure of its a lingering issue I have from his first stint in Detroit but I hate Williams on this team again! Maybe I just don't like him I don't know, I can't even give you a spicific instance or reason why but I just find him to be completely useless? Does anyone else?

Why don't ppl understand that we are scrapping for every point this season and we NEED the players on the ice that give us the best chance to win. Osgood has been garbage this season and Howard has been better... thats why Howard is getting in as many games as he is, to give him as much NHL exposure as he can get bc chances are likely that he will be starting if we make the playoffs. We do not have any wiggle room at all to let Osgood work out his problems on the ice during games when he has been horrible pretty well every time he has had game play. If we were sitting pretty in a secured playoff spot I might see your point but we are not and Babcock is going with the tender thats giving us the best chance to win.
