I just pointed out that I am not fully comfortable with how that guy is playing as there are many still many visible mistakes he is making. I never said "he will never be good enough" and should be "railroaded out of town". He's improved some, and some has been enough for right now but I don't feel it will be good enough in the case that he has to assume the role. He has been in the system long enough to have a handle on the poor rebound control and the mad scrambling that seems to be hapening. I'm hoping he works out the kinks and continues to improve but looking at his track record in the AHL its not giving me the confidence. He is in by default right now and playing well enough to keep him there right now but I don't see Howard as the game stealer that we need from time to time. Why is it that when ever someone posts a critical comment about a player they have to enccur the wrath of all those who don't ever want to aknowledge or talk about area's needing improvement?

Sad that Helm had to get bitten by the injury bug also and I hope he heals fast and gets back to playing but on the positive side I liked what Newbury did with his time and hope he can keep providing that energy and spark while he's in.... Nice job Newbie, keep it up!

Take note all seeking to join LGW. This is why you should never post anything that is not first viewed through the rosey red glasses of posters like this guy and you should never post anything critical against any player on the team because they are Red Wings and therefore perfect. Anyway, Jimmy's improved but not enough to be a #1 goalie yet IMO. He makes some big saves, he's a Pro hockey player let's hope he can occassionally, but he's also let in alot of very save-able goals and to me seems to scramble alot. I'm not comfortable with him.

Right now he has been doing enough and that is fine but we need a clear cut #1 and he is not it. A part from a few good saves per game he is shakey at best and if it weren't for the D playing well in front of him I think his numbers would be , alot different. We need a game stealer someone your not holding your breath each time a shot goes his way. His rebound control is horrible and he is caught out of position alot. Perhaps he can improve and now would be the time to tighten up his game but its taken him this long to get into regular rotation for a reason and I think he has far better competition ready to challenge him.

What a stupid comment! Fans have every right to be miffed that one of our potentially prized picks has decided to give up just because its taking him some time to adjust. Nill was right on the money with his advice that he needs to tough it through the rough spots to build strength and character instead of pouting and running home to mommy. Has nothing to do with worshipping anything but appreciating the opportunity given to you, and for an organization like the Red Wings?! He is truely an idiot Adversity shows a players heart and apparently Dick's is pretty small and weak!

They aren't back until they can ALL but in a 60 minute effort each game and I'm not convinced they are there yet. They've showing heart and have proven they can compete with the best of them but can they do it consistently and for 60 minutes per game? We will see!

Just think about Red Wings with Scotty Bowman then almost the exact same Red Wings with Dave Lewis then Most of the same Red Wings with Babcock. They are not motivated, they are not prepared... that could very well be the product of a bad coach. Its can't be entirely his fault but it could be where it stems from.

Man... those are both hideous! They were never game worn for very good reason.

Sounds like we are doing our best impression of the 08/09 regular season version of the Red Wings. Getting scored on within the first minute of the game doesn't really show alot of desire from anyone on the team does it? Sounds like an over-all attitude check is more important then firing a coach or benching the defensive core.... same problem we had last year that cost us a Cup. 60 Minute effort in game 7 and the Cup was ours!

Unfortunately I haven't been able to see many games this season yet so I cannot comment on what is happening in the games. Although in the end a coach cannot be on the ice to play he is directly responsible for the preparedness of a team or he area of coaching. Look what happened after Dave Lewis came in and took over Scotty's team... which was virtually the same team! Different coach had different results. Maybe there is something to the coaching of the defense and its too much coincidence that it has been happening this way for the 2 seasons after losing Todd Mc and having him replaced with Brad Mc?! This season we don't have the fire power to overcome a seasons worth of bad defense and s***ty goal tending... something surely needs to change!

That makes me miss Good 'Ole Shanny.... Oh how we could use a player like he once was. Here's hoping! I actually don't mind Bylsma despite him being the Pens coach.

No I am not being sarcastic at all...watch the Olympics this year and see for yourself! But the Good Canadian Kids we speak of are drafted high and we haven't been close to one in a very long time.

I prefer the North American style of play which is very different the the Euro style whether you want to believe it or not. I think the best is to have a good blend of the 2 to get the best of both worlds. The problem lies in the quality of the talent that left and the quality that they were replaced with. I wasn't much of a Sammy fan but I would take him back over Eaves... Didn't care much for invisible Hudler either ut he is still a huge upgrade over Williams.

This... and This again... how about some more of THIS!

Obviously it up'ed the number of NA players on the roster but replacing 3 good Europeans + Kopecky with 5 mediocre North Americans is not going to add anything in terms of making us a better team. If we were to replace the 5 euro's with the equivalent in talent from NA then we would have something to talk about.
