I have never liked Ozzie as a #1 but he was a fantastic in tandem with Hasek and I would like to see that sort of chemistry and competition between him and Conks. No need for anyone to turn this into a "goalie war", but this is lgw and well.... it happens.

I am from Canada but I don't watch much Canadian TV... other than Trailer Park Boys and The Red Green Show. I have a US dish and maybe I don't see that many Crosby ads because I get most games on Fox Sports Detroit. I do see some but not so many that it makes me hate the guy nor do I feel that he is being forced. I see more Peyton Manning ads then Crosby and I have yet to hear people complain that Manning is being forced on them... Or maybe I like his ads because I am a Colts fan?!

Everyone is always saying how Crosby is constantly forced on them by the media, I don't really see tonnes of Crosby ads?! There are some but not like a constant bombardment. I guess its just something for Crosby haters to exagerrate and rag on? There always seems to be some excuse being thrown around as reason to hate him.

I love the WJC Tourney, great stage for the young guys to strut their stuff. Add the fact that Canada wins their 5th gold in a row makes this tourney that much sweeter. GO CANADA!

I admire the kids passion and I like him even more... not for his fighting but for his willingness. He can't fight, he's not a fighter but he will try to fight... sort of, if it came to it. He's definately better off sticking to his guns but I like the fact that he has a bite to him at times. Anyone remember Gretzky's attempt at fighting? It was 2 minutes of ring around the rosey without 1 punch being thrown.

This was a clear hit from behind and any suspension incurred is deserved. Not saying that there was intent to injure but it was a hit from behind and that is not legal for the safety of the players.

Kopecky is a bum, he is filler and thats about all. Chelios at 46 has more to offer then Kopecky ever will and I'm really glad they let Chelios play for the Classic, how ever little it was! Perhaps Cheli can't contribute as much as he used to in games but he sure can in being a mentor to younger players... he's a winner, he's been a winner where ever he's played and he has alot to offer from his experience!

If we can get consistency going through out the team and for 60 minutes we have as good a shot at going all the way as ever but there are plenty of good teams this year and lots that can be a surprise come play off time. Where I really think we are a cut above the rest is in playoff experience and having so many players with it and the best coach in the league, IMO. Where we might lack so far is goaltending unless the D continues to improves as it has lately and returns to its top form like last year... then we can make due with decent goaltending and if our goaltending shapes up too then we can be dominant in all area's.

I also thought that Lebda has been looking quite a bit better the last few games. I feel like I should wash my mouth out with soap after this but even Lilja has been pretty good too.... **Gag**

I agree with this too. I think we could use the time to rest or use the time for practice to smooth out the rough spots. Not because they don't deserve to be there but because the time off might more beneficial.

I always Loved CuJo and thought he was treated so poorly here. I thought he was great for us and I am happy to see him reach that milestone. Congrats to CuJo!

Personally I have not seen a bad game from Hossa at all this season. Just because he doesn't get points in every game he plays doesn't mean he is ineffective on the ice or slumping. Hossa works hard every shift. every night in all aspects of the game. Hasn't he been voted the #1 star in several games this season that he has not posted any points? Hossa is truely amazing and worth every penny.

I don't recall anyone saying that they would love him in Detroit only that he would be a hell of a better 4th line role player then what we have now. Sometimes the homerism on this board is unbearable. Maybe they should change the name from lgw.com to redwinghomers.com.

Anyway, he does fight, hit, agitate and could possibly pot 10 goals in a season and all of the above are an upgrade on anything that Maltby or Kopecky combined can offer. I think a more productive 4th line chipping in with the occassional goal and providing some excitement and more then just filler time would be helpful. So what if he doesn't accept every fight that he instigates he still gets into 100% more fights then all of our 4th line combined... I can't remember seeing any of our 4th liners fight anyone, win lose or draw!!

No, he is a dickhead I am not even trying to cover that fact but IMHO he does provide more energy to a game then both Maltby and Kopecky do. Maltby tries to agitate but only successfully annoys people... Tootoo does agitate and is good at it. Kopecky? He's good for helping us sign Hossa and for filling up a seat on the bench that should be filled by Helm.

Probert had alot of off-ice issue's that's for sure but what he did for the Red Wings was unquestionable. He played his role the best he could and he did make a difference more than Kopecky, Maltby or Tootoo combined. I was a huge Probert fan as you can tell!

What's retarded is Maltby and Kopecky on the same line on the same team. 2 useless players that provide little if anything at all... They don't provide any sort of grit, or toughness, or any sort scoring ability. All they do provide is few minutes per game that other players can rest and that is the extent of it... thats retarded!

Not sure how anyone can use the words "as gifted offensively as kopecky" all in the same sentence. I wonder sometimes if kopecky has prosthetic hands or if he may perhaps benefit from using a snow shovel rather than a hockey stick.
