Give him some time. Let Babs see where his pieces work and don't. He's a winner, always has been and always will be. Might not be pretty at times but he gets the job done and he's prven that. How quickly we forget the massive changes this team has gone through in the last few seasons and we are still competitive with the ability to achieve more... Babs will figure it out. Looks at last season. There is a tonne of hockey yet to be played. If you want the Red Wings domination of old start watching the 2002 season archives... this team needs to adapt to what it has and it will. Won't be an all out Red Wings landslide anymore it will have to be done with some old school mucky grinding hockey.

I don't know much about Michael Del Zotto but it looks like the Rangers could be shopping the young defenseman. The following article suggests they are looking for a defenseman capable of 19+ minutes per game in return. Would Del Zotto be an improvement over Quincey or Kindl? Is he worth looking to bring in somehow? Why is he on the outs in NY if he is that good?

Not everyone can walk in and be a stand out like Dekeyser. I was one that regularly said the same thing about Ericsson that most are saying about Smith now. Ericsson took his time but is finding his ground and Smith will be the same. For now enjoy Dekeyser's success unti Smitty finds his ground. Oh. What about that Kindl guy? 2 years ago I'd have said he was on his way out of town but he has actually finally proven some worth. Patience. It will be worth it.

I'm with you... the whole team changed when Shanny arrived. He gave us everything we needed in a true blue Power forward. What an awesome player he was!

This is purely a rumor (MODs you may want to move this post to the rumours section) but I heard that the Mule was the first to receive a scrotoplasty from Dr. Gregory Roach. It's the first, and maybe only, surgery of its kind! It's were they take the Scrotum of a Mule and transpant it on a human named Mule. Let's hope for a speedy and successfull recovery if this is true.

I believe I have figured out what the mysterious illness is that has suddenly taken down the mighty mule. It was this post that I started. Let me quote myself: "This guy drives me nuts!! The Flamers are used to being carried by their unbreakable pack mule in net, Kipper. No offense to Joey but he is not a starter in the NHL.... I'm sure he looks even worse following in Kipper's wake

This is the worst part. Even when Hoss isn't scoring he is wicked defensively.

We are in waters we haven't been in for a very long time. Babcock needs to, and will, find a way to evolve with this team. There is alot of inexperienced players in the line up which normally have their growing pains, plus there are some lingering pains (Leaders not leading -Franzen), Some dead weight (Samuelsson), new players adjusting (Weiss, Alfie) and key injuries and more. Thats a whole lot to contend with all at once but I have no doubt Babcock will figure it out and get things back on course and this diversity now will be our strength come play off time. Last season was a rough one but the team came together at the right time... I know its hard to watch but it will happen again this year also.

I said Jonas only because I think it would be better for Mrazek to get more ice time then bench time. Once Mrazek is the official backup I would hope for Babs to work them into a 1A-1B tandem (like we had with Hasek and Osgood) so Howie gets more rest and Mrazek gets more then 5 games per year EDITED: But with "Glass Groin" Gus it looks like Mrazek will be the backup

Miller or Eaves... same sort of player. I just hope Tootoo is not the one on the outs. Cleary can play everywhere, is physicalish and is clearly a big leader in the lockerroom... He's been a great Red Wing and that is why I am happy to see him back.

Am I the only one glad to see Cleary come back? I guess I may change my mind after seeing how the dust settles... if the dust settling means Sammy, Miller and Emmerton are the casualties then I will be fine... even add Bert to that (Not because I dont want him on the team but...)

Great LOL to start a work week!! Thanks. If we are looking to move a few players to bring in a gritty veteran presence... I might prefer to see us bring in Morrow over Cleary. I have nothing against Cleary and would be happy with him coming back but maybe Morrow would be a better option?! I also dont think Tootoo should be going anywhere and would rather see him perm on the 4th line. He's always all in! I believe he has some good 4th line hockey in him too. Lose Miller or Eaves and Emmerton + Keep Tootoo and bring in Morrow!! If that would work of course.
