Not a crappy one- just one of those days where you say, "I can't believe I did that. How stupid." It started with falling out of bed and scraping my knee on an open drawer, and then pouring the milk on my cereal with the spoon sitting on top of the cereal, causing the splash to deflect and spray out in every direction. Now in hockey terms, this means that we'll forget to change ends at the start of each period and Babs will forget which of the kids plays defense and which is a forward, causing awkward line changes.

Go Wings. At least have a better day than I did, with fewer glaring errors and embarrassing mistakes. If you can win, that would be good too. Wings win a millionty-seven to one.

Wow. I've always liked Backus. One of my old faves. I guess all things must end, but I wish some of those guys who've stuck it out through the years could have had some measure of success before they left beyond a single playoff game.

It would be just our luck to breed the Lidstrom boys with the Yzerman girls and get a family of lovely young Swedish ladies with bad knees.

I don't mind it if there is a reason such as bad roads or weather, but if it's sunny and dry, pedal to the metal or get out of my way! The person below me has been embarrassed lately.

What about "on the right"? Is it someone special? A movie star? A pro athlete? A porn star? Don't just point him out, tell us all about him!

It almost happened yesterday. It could happen today. -

I don't blame the loss on people whining. It just makes it twice as annoying when you have to watch one and listen to the other. I don't get paid millions. I have two jobs that are barely over minimum. But I know people who would give their left... kneecap to have one minimum wage job. There are lots of people who make more than they do for less work. It's all relative. Point is we all have off days. We all have days where we just don't have what it takes physically or mentally or both. When it's happening to a group, it has a vortex effect. Everyone eventually gets sucked in, and nothing goes right even for those who are trying. I think that's what happened yesterday. -

I just hope that none of the people who are whining about yesterday ever have a bad day where things just don't go right for them. They'd never be able to handle it. Go Wings! Yesterday was a bad day. It happens. Shake it off and move on. -
They hadn't been born yet. Well, Han was a baby, but Luke and Leia hadn't been born yet.

Nope. Nope, no, or nyet?

Normally they're not good enough to bother me. The person below me has bought a brand new car at some time in their life.

Come on, guys! Early and often! Glad that we can kill. We just need to be better on the PP and ES.

EARLY AND OFTEN!!!!!

Go Wings! 14-3 Wings: Pavel, Brunner, Kronner, Eaves and 10 ENG's in the last minute by Abby Blue Jackets: 3 convenient bounces off an official's skates. All people wearing striped shirts in Ohio get curly fries. All 8 Blue Jacket fans are so happy with the free fries that they don't mind the loss.

Really doesn't matter, but if I have to choose, I'll take salted. If there are no kleenex, which is the preferred substitute for nose-blowing: Toilet paper, napkin, or paper tower?

You kidding? I think of the 80's. The person below me has learned to speak another language.

Didn't Crosby get offered a little more (I think I heard 9) but wanted the 8.7 because of his fixation with the number (b-day 8/7/87, wears #87)?

Wasn't there rumblings a while ago that Ryan wasn't happy there? Maybe they're assuming that he'll move on to greener pastures and are hoping that they can get Getz and Perry signed. Given that Getz and Perry are kind of the Olson Twins 2.0 (or would that be 4.0?) maybe they think that locking up Getz for a tidy sum will mean that Perry will be open to staying for something similar when his time comes. As far as the lockout bringing down prices, I agree with whomever it was who said that the big names would get paid more, and it's the lower guys that will be taking the cuts. For the Ducks, Getz and Perry are the big names, assuming Ryan moves on. From the perspective of who "deserves" big money, each team has its own players. I don't think when locking up existing players, one can compare to other teams. If the owner of Team A wants to spend to the floor and Team B is spending to the ceiling, they're not going to offer the same guy the same amount. Also, the star player on one team might be the 3rd or 4th best on another, but for the team he plays for, he's the star. If you have a situation where a team doesn't want to pay out a lot, they're not going to go after the Parise kind of UFA. They're going to lock down what they have for as cheap as they can. I'm not saying this is the case with the Ducks and Getz, just making a general statement. In any case, the majority of teams are going to lock down their big guys unless their demands are outrageous because as we saw last summer, there's no guarantee that you'll get any big guys through free agency. Even if their big guys are big fish in small ponds, they're still the biggest fish they have.

I'm honestly not surprised. I would love Getz if he played for someone other than the Ducks. As it is, I hate him because we play against him, but would love him in our sweater.

No, I'm more of a pickup chick. It would be cool to have one, though. The person below me would like to live in a castle.

Lake. Oceans are salty and far away. Peeps: fresh or hard?

Tootoo. Love that guy. Energy, fists- he's all that and a bucket of cheese. The D finally starting to gel. It took some time, especially with the injuries, but they're starting to look good- even Kindl has been pretty good lately. Kronner seems to be settling into the number one position. It can't have been easy given changes in partners, and his expanded role and responsibility, but he seems to be getting there. Brunner has been quite a find. The kids stepping up. Loving the future. The first goal of the season scored by none other than Brian Lashoff. So much for betting with the odds. Jim-my How-ard. Patty Sunshine returning from concussion. Sure, there are still some things we need to work on, but I'm not at all worried about the season or the future.
