You wouldn't believe how busy. (Get your butt back in here, young lady. No excuses.) The person below me is ready for winter.

Good summary. Both are posturing for the end of the next CBA. They're both letting each other know that they are going to win from now on no matter what so that whichever one blinks first on this one will be considered the "weak" one for the next go-round. Let's hope that the next CBA gets signed through 2199. I should be good and dead by then.

Just for fun and giggles, not that it would ever happen, but I'd love to see the PA submit a proposal in which they agree to the League's demands on the condition that they will receive their agreed-upon pay for the duration of future lockouts (not strikes) at the owners' expense. Bettman would implode. I was also reading last night that the players on LTIR are still paid during a lockout. The article was talking about DiPetrio being taken off LTIR at the end of the summer, not because he was ready to play, but as a money-saving move in the event of a lockout. Is this the case? If so, does LTIR fall under the escrow rules? How does that work during a lockout? If I recall correctly, Eaves is our only guy on LTIR. Lucky him.

I was going to ask, "What about the Dodgers?" but then I went to wikipedia and looked it up. I'm really out of the loop. They moved to LA. From what I've heard of where the Islanders have been playing, they need a place that people can get to conveniently with good businesses around it that cater to pre- and post-game needs. If Brooklyn has that, then this is a good move.

Only if it's cooked with some seriously good cheese sauce, and even then I'm not crazy about it. The person below me likes hush puppies.

Vote. Twice if I can get away with it. (just kidding) More likely: Life on other planets or Bigfoot on ours?

Pure speculation, of course. Z is the heir apparent, and he has all of the ability to do it. However, Nik is not the worst choice for a captain. If you look at the players as individuals rather than looking at it as a competition, Nik is a good choice for the reasons mentioned. He is a competitor, he's skilled both offensively and defensively, has a good presence in front of the camera, and (I've heard mentioned in interviews with other players) he has a strong presence in the locker room. And there's the "Kronwalled" thing. That's a good thing too. If you read the article as a threat to Z, then yeah, I guess you can get upset about it, but if you just read it as an article on Kronwall and his abilities, then I have to agree with it. On a team without Z, he'd at least be in consideration for the position. The fact that Z is a foregone conclusion doesn't negate the fact that Nik would be a good man for the job. It just means that in this case he's not the best one.

Sacrifice the full season to guarantee Bettman's removal?

Just out of curiosity... If Bettman was removed from his position, which sport would he go ruin next- baseball or football? -
I bet they missed the regulars at training camp. The person below me has worn a skirt or dress in the last year.

Scrimp so I can splurge later. Mayo or miracle whip?

But would it take a 3/4 or just a simple majority to pass the rule that would get rid of the new rule? I would think that since the inception of that rule, there has been some regret on the part of the owners. -
I really don't go to movies. I've been to 3 in the last 2 decades. The person below me already knows for whom they will vote and is sick of the phone calls already.

Papa. I miss him too. Vasoline or baby powder?

Seems to me the problem is their signing to get paid in apples and getting paid in oranges. They sign for dollar amounts individually, but then get paid according to a percentage of profits. It would be clearer for everyone if they signed contracts giving them a certain percent of the team's profits and at the end of the season, they got the money once they had figured out what the team's profits were after all the poor teams had gotten their payments etc. It would be stupid, but it's essentially what they're doing now, they are just placing dollar amounts on numbers that are subject to change. Hence the whole escrow thing. -
Me too. I guess that's why it said "ages 8-12" on the CD thingie in the picture. Lebda could have been good if he had more hockey sense. Too bad Cheli and Lids didn't rub off on him.

Crap. Lions on Monday night. Please please please let me be working in a secluded corner where I can have my phone.

Only if I could have a spy device for all proceedings that was accompanied by a stealth bitchslap device. The person below me has been embarrassed for their city lately. Bonus track explaining why I am embarrassed for my city:

No, but I still have a dress from my sophomore year in high school. (Same year Kronwall was born.) I need to shed a few pounds, but it's fairly close to fitting. The person below me eats veggies right from the can.

I try, but it seems like once I do, they have a way of rearing their heads again. The person below me would like to visit Europe.
