Do You Wanna Touch- Joan Jett & the Blackhearts
-
I'm stuck in a time warp. I shudder when I see "Lions-San Francisco" because in my head I'm thinking Montana to Rice vs Hipple to GuyWhoWillDropTheBallAssumingItGetsToHim. Need to start thinking "Stafford-Megatron".

Imagine that the Lady of the Lake stopped chucking swords and instead began bestowing hockey sticks. You, after your typical night of drunken skinnydipping, have found yourself in possession of the Magical Sword of Commishionerhood. It is now up to you to decree a fair CBA without repressing either side. What would you consider to be fair and reasonable to both the players and the owners? Personally, I think that the teams are competitive enough that they will blow out their wallets to get the best players available. Those that aren't willing won't win. I don't think that the underpayment of players will be a problem in the future, given the contracts that are out there serving as a benchmark. On the other hand, the contracts won't get too big as long as the owners are the ones signing the checks. If they don't like paying out so much, they can... not pay out so much. No one is forcing them to pay the players massive contracts, stupid contracts, or any contracts that they might have to hide later. In a nutshell? Free enterprise. That said, I do think that there needs to be an RFA period so that teams don't get outbidden for their drafted talent. I think that age 27 is sufficient. I'm not a big fan of offer sheets, but I wouldn't get rid of them. They can liven up a dull summer. Oh, yes... and let the boys go to the Olympics.

Oh, yes. Some more than others, of course. The person below me has forgotten the name of an old flame.

Signed Wings sign Carlo Colaiacovo to 2 year deal, $2.5m cap hit

We could just go with Coco (not to be confused with Koko=Kopecky). Cocoa? Hot, steamy, rich, and probably good with marshmallows. -
West Point, Nebraska? Nope. Of course, I moved away when I was 2 months old, so it wouldn't matter. My adopted home, however, has had a few, if you count the Greater Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan area rather than just Fargo. Paul Gaustad was born here and lived here for his first few years of life. Moorhead has produced Jason Blake, the Cullen brothers (Matt still lives in Fargo in the offseason) and one other who used to play for the Senators whose name completely slips my mind. <--- EDIT: Brian Lee, currently with the Lightning. I've never met any of them, but the guy who used to live the street over from me and helped me lift the frame of my deck when I was building it used to work for the Cullen boys' dad.

Report: Wings close to signing Carlo Colaiacovo
55fan replied to Greatness=PavelDatsyuk's topic in General
Good thing it's not a one year deal. Sorry. Bitter about this whole lock out thing. Good signing. Not earth-shattering, but solid. -
I realize that this will never happen, but wouldn't it be a lovely thing if there were a dozen or so billionaires who happened to love hockey and started some teams just for this one season? Imagine that any interested player could submit his name, and the billionaires could just have a fantasy draft, play a 20 or 30 game schedule, put the videos up online for our enjoyment, and at the end have the guys play for something silly like a jockstrap and a jelly doughnut. The billionaires could pay them whatever they agree on, and charge admission to cover travel costs. It would be just for fun and kind of a sticking out of the tongue at the league.

Regular Soft or firm?

Having a degree in music has been so helpful when working in a sewer pipe factory. I don't regret the choice. I should have realized that I'm not cut out for the professional world before I started wanting to learn stuff and just did like I do now and learn for free by reading and stuff. The person below me wishes they could fly.
-
I pay them when I get the money- hopefully on time. Granite or marble?
-
I haven't. The person below me eats rice at least once a week.

I will listen to alternative proposals, but mostly I'm a missile headed in one direction and woe to any who attempt to change my trajectory. It's one of my greatest flaws. Feel awkward dating if the man is considerable shorter than the woman or height doesn't matter?
-
For the most part, we don't have a common language. I do socialize with some people I used to work with, and I have socialized with co-workers in the past. The person below me is planning to have surgery.

You can tell I'm old-fashioned and low-income. I see "8 bathrooms" and think, "Poor Annika! Imagine cleaning eight bathrooms!" I'm sure she had help.
-
Only Count von Bettman can cry "Lockout". Fehr would be crying "Strike". Unless I've missed footage of Fehr bowling, officiating a baseball game, or tracking a missile, that hasn't happened. The players were willing to go ahead another year under the current CBA.

No clue who Freddie Mac is/was, but he has to be better than the alternative. MacGyver or MacIntosh?

Holy crap. They sounded familiar, so I went to wikipedia to look it up. No, I have to say that unless those equations have numbers in them, I can not do quadratic equation. However, if you put actual numbers in those thingies, then I probably could. I'm good with letters and can figure numbers, but when you put them together, it's just as unnatural as mating a goat with a seal. It should not be done. The person below me has lots of useless trivia floating about in their head.

Coke. The person below me was really cute as a child.

I know how, but physically I am unable and I have no desire to do it. The person below me has more than three oven mitts.

Fred Fred or Ginger?

I think I'd be scouring nooks and crannies to see if they left anything behind. Can you imagine finding something of value? Or even if it was just sentimental value, like one of the boys' baby books, you could still call him up and tell him you have something of his and you'd like to return it and have a nice chat with him.
