I'm old and experienced. I like my men young and dumb. Atlantic or Pacific?

    The person below me game...

I'd welcome a third. I already have a second. I'd really like a third where I didn't have to do anything, or at least where I got to do something fun. The person below me has at least one living plant inside their house.

Six teams on Nash's trade "list", none Canadian

As far as I'm concerned, if he joins CBJ he can float around at the Joe as much as he wants. We do seem to have issues with guys going there and looking good against us later.

I don't know what flan is, but my sister likes creme brulee, so I'll go with that. When you make a typo and notice it several keystrokes later do you backspace to the offending letter, erasing everything in between, or mouse over to the mistake, or use the back/up keys to get to that point?

Snakes, lawn chairs, and car washes. Those are my fears. Men in suits with mustaches make me uncomfortable, but not afraid. The person below me gets distract...oh, look, a butterfly...

No way! I am always into that! The person below me takes better care of their pet than they do of themselves.

I'll go with plain unless the mix-in is something I really like or am in the mood for. Beets or radishes?
  9. He's a goalie. I think that right there eliminates any sort of "normal" mindset.
  10. If I was a GM and had a potentially hot young goalie and no decent backup, I'd have a conversation with Dom about coming in as a backup and kind of mentor to the kid. If they had a similar style, Dom would be a fantastic teacher. (Not that anyone really has a "similar" style to Hasek, but you know what I mean.) His work ethic, mad training, and drive to succeed alone would make him a valuable asset as a locker room leader. I could see him used as a veteran presence that can be relied on to carry part of the load. He's been dominating in lesser leagues, and don't forget that his last NHL appearance was due to two bad games. He and Ozzie split time evenly during the season. They didn't win the Jennings on the merits of only one of them. It was a true tandem. I say that if someone's willing to give him a go, more power to him. Plus it makes me feel younger if there are players in the NHL that are older than I am.

    Homer

If he doesn't retire outright, this is what I see as well. And I also predict that LGW will explode with people calling for Holland's head, not realizing that Homer can be sent to GR and refuse and it won't cost us a thing. Sure, Mr and Mrs I have to pay for the extra hotel room in TC, but that's not out of our pockets. It also allows fans one more chance to track him down for autographs etc. Everyone wins. I don't know if Homer will go that route, but if he doesn't retire outright, it is either this or the Wings just won't offer him a contract and he'll kind of hang in space unemployed until he officially retires. I'd rather they have a nice press conference. Hopefully it will include subtitles.

Straight? Not sure. I did have a stretch in college where I went from Tuesday morning to Friday afternoon with only 3 naps of an hour or 2 each. Graveyard shift at work and night classes/practices. The joy of being a music major. The person below me is a tidy housekeeper.

looking for a pic of franzen

It's from Hank and Emma's wedding party. They had them for all the guests to wear to a party the night before the wedding. The hotel used to give them out to guests back in the day. Emma grew up near there, so they rented rooms for their guests there and when everyone arrived, they told them to change. Then everyone went down to the beach and Hank and Emma arrived by rowboat and they all partied.

    Holland Content with Current Roster

We all have him on ignore. Nothing to back it up but gut feeling, but I am seeing Doan in a Wheel. It seems like when we've at least gotten close to a Cup, there's been at least one team member going all-out for a Cup before retirement. There are some on the roster as it stands who have not experienced the Cup, but they're all young. Doan could give us that hunger. We've been missing some sort of intangible since we won the last Cup. Maybe having that extra drive will motivate a team that sorely needs it.
  21. We'll know well before the playoffs if the new kids have what it takes or not. Sure, sometimes guys show up for the playoffs, or a new kid just clicks at the right time, but speaking in general terms, we'll know by then what we seriously need. That said, the beginning of the season might be a bit rough.

Had enough excitement lately. We're on vacation and baby sister added an emergency apendectomy to the itinerary. The person below me will now explain to me what "city chicken" is.

    Holland Content with Current Roster

I'm content with this group. They are a mediocre bunch who could maybe surprise some people. They're not the Leafs or the Oilers. I'm also content with the sofa that I got in 1976. It's ugly earth-tone paisley and my dad had to beef it up with plywood in spots, but it'll do until I get something better. Pretty much like the Wings. What we have is good. That doesn't mean we aren't shopping around to get better. It just means that we're not going to throw out the babies with the bathwater and blow up the team en route to getting better players. Trades? FA signings? Sure, if they improve the team at a reasonable price. One can be content and still looking to improve. It just means that what one has is servicable. Now if Holland had said, "I'm tickled pink with this team!" then I would worry.
