Look in the Group Events. Linda, Kristi, Dawn, Pat, Terry, Jenny, and Casey (so far) are going to the game. I believe some are meeting at Cobo Joe's before and Hockeytown Cafe after. You'd probably better double check that.

I can see the reasoning behind all of the options, but in the grand scheme of things, making the playoffs is what you have to do. Beyond that, it's a bounce here or there that can kill you or save you. Anything can happen in the playoffs, but it takes a full season to make the playoffs. It means even more now that our division is actually competitive. I consider making the playoffs to be a successful season. And then the real work starts. After that, everything else is gravy. I'm not going to be happy with anything but a Cup, but I'm not going to get mad about not winning it every year either. Unless we win the Cup, I will be disappointed, but I will still consider this to be a highly successful team. Maybe I've spent too many decades as a Lions fan.

I think polls like that are terrible. It's one thing to sit here and discuss it amongst ourselves, but to have a public poll asking if someone else should be forced out is insensitive. I realize he's a hockey player and he takes as much abuse as anyone in the rink, and then some, but the subject of outliving your usefulness is a touchy one. It is a call that should be decided between him, his team, his family, and the management, and then brought to the fans. Let him go out publicly with the honour and dignity he has earned, not with faceless people slamming the door behind him from their keyboards. I realize a lot of people who took part in that poll are too young to have faced the point in their life when they have to face up to the fact that they are no longer capable of carrying their weight, but trust me on this one, it is a huge blow to one's pride.

Good. I get NBC and the Minnesota Wild games. Other games are not offered by the only cable company serving Fargo. No NHL network. No Center Ice. I could get VS, but only if I go to the higher level of cable, which I can't afford, and which only broadcasts games on nights when I am working anyway. If I'm going to watch on a little computer screen, I'm going to do it free unless I know for certain that I will be able to see all of the games. If I had reliable, regular access to the games, and I knew I'd be home to watch them, I'd pay for them. Maybe what they need is a smaller package that allows people to purchase "tickets" to watch a certain number of games rather than a boatload of games for a huge fee.

You do realize that it's been a decade since we won a Cup without Ritola as a Black Ace, right? For some reason, I believe in the "switch" more this year. The problem with it is that it only lasts a short while, maybe one round. Then, once we start winning, we get overconfident and fall into bad habits again, and find ourselves struggling. We could beat Dallas. And then? I am afraid that is where the "switch" will short-circuit unless we got a team that had been nicely beaten up for us. I'm not giving up. Far from it. I think a lot of the lethargy we've seen this year is that they don't feel challenged. They have played many games where they didn't have to give it their all to win. Howard kept them in some. Others were played against teams with injuries when we were healthy. Our injury bug hit later than usual this season. Now that we've clinched, they are back to "ho-hum" playing. Perhaps there are more like Zetterberg and Cleary who are playing injured and are just playing to keep as healthy as possible, but it seems more like a mental thing. Only time will tell.

Physically impossible, unfortunately. There are some things you can do to a person only once. Nonetheless, I am glad that he was found guilty, even if the sentence was a joke. An innocent verdict would have been intolerable.

Sure I'll share with you. Um, you did mean that I'd share what I'd do with it, not share the money, right? Fortunately, in ND you do not have to be publicly identified. I would take the money, sock it away and not tell anyone. Then I would pay my bills. Then I would see a financial counselor. I would figure out how to give the money away so that I would be able to help the most people. I would make small improvements to my home, but none that would arouse suspicion. As far as friends and family, I would figure out a way to get them some money- bogus inheritance or something. Hey, for that kind of money, I'd hire someone to think of something. Then I would quit my full-time job and tell people that my back had gotten bad enough that I was on disability. This may sound selfish, but I have people in my life who would not use the money wisely. I'm not going to watch someone I love destroy themselves with drugs etc. I'd have to keep it to myself. That's why I don't play the big ones. I only play the Wild Card. I could keep 100k a secret, and have all that I want and need, and still help some people. The person below me was disappointed that they didn't win.

No. I only play Wild Card. I don't want to win more money than I can hide. There are people in my life that would misuse it. The person below me would want to keep their identity secret if they won that much money.

True. The only way I could see it happening is if one of the three Cali teams had info that at least one of the others was planning to woo him come July 1 and wanted to get in early. If this was Zetterberg or someone like that, I could see it. Stuart? Not so much. I think if a team is going for Stuart, they'll be willing to wait.
