My first view was when I thought it was illegal. From that vantage point, I thought his elbow made primary contact with Voracek's head. After seeing other angles and slowing it down etc. I saw that it was legal. I'm just glad it didn't result in a suspension anyway. I do agree with the Phili announcer. There should have been a whistle. If a team's player is in another county and a different time zone, they should be able to replace him on the ice.

I voted yes, but after about 6 more repeats and doing pauseplaypauseplay repeatedly, I think I am in the "clean hit" camp now. At least I hope he doesn't get suspended. We need him.

Officially, anyway. It's a bargaining chip for the CBA. "We'll let you go if you drop your demand for ________________." Several of the Russian players are pretty much going whether anyone likes it or not.

It's an unfortunate reality these days that we all need some sort of self-defense training. I hope he's ok, and that the guys who did this are caught. I also hope that the college "kids" who watched this happen will learn to step up to the plate and defend dad when he gets the tar beaten out of him. Not that I expect everyone to jump someone. Just perhaps to help restrain the bad guy would be nice.

Don't we usually do this in February? Wow, first they show up for games in the third period, then they show up for injuries a month late. If it means we'll be in the playoffs a month later than the last couple of years, I'm all for it, but I'm not sure that will translate. -
Excellent points. The next time I go see the Wings play the Wild (the closest team to me), I will be sure to wear an Avs jersey and jump up and down when both teams score, just so I won't look like an idiot. Silly, that's what that is.
