Maybe the Shanahan needs to put out a video at the beginning of the season discussing this. I don't know about you guys, but despite having serious issues about racial/religious/ethnic/gender-related taunts, it is giving me the giggles to imagine. Good morning. Yeah. To be honest, I think we'll have to get someone in a trade after #5 retires. Aside from Smith, we've got Kronner, who isn't going anywhere. White has been a pleasant surprise, but will he keep it up without Nick? Stuie is rumoured to be moving on, although that may just be rumour. There's our top 4. I think if I can trade Smith for a sure thing (Getz), I would do it and then trade for an established Dman. Smith has great potential, but so did Ericsson. Remember when he was going to save us all? I'm not giving up quite yet, but he is blooming very slowly, if he is going to bloom at all. I'm not throwing Smith out for just anything. Getz is one of the players I would give him up for. It's a very small group. I could probably count them on one hand. In fact, if not for adding Parros into the equation, I wouldn't have suggested Smith at all. Like I said before, this won't be bought with spare parts. Just to let people know how much I like Getz, I'm talking about trading the player (Johan) that I named my hamster after. Yeah, that kind of devotion. I love Mule more than Smith, but I'd be willing to move both for Getzlaf and Parros.

Mule, Smith, Kindl for Getz and Parros. I feel so dirty typing that.

Only a day away. It would be nice, but I'd just have a whole 'nother set of things to do. The person below me has houseplants that need re-potting.

The part time job has a uniform. The full time job is jeans and t-shirts that you don't care if they get ruined. The person below me has cold feet.

I would die to have Getzlaf here. Unfortunately, if he's looking for a core for a core, I can't imagine who we could offer that I wouldn't miss more than I would like Getz here. (Did that make sense?) No way could we get him for a 4th liner or spare parts.

Sentimentality. Most people around here (North Star/Wild area) cheered for the North Stars, followed the team when they went to Dallas, and then became Wild fans. The difference in the team histories and names etc. are almost academic as far as the attitudes. The mindset is almost "our team 1.0" and "our team 2.0" as opposed to being 2 different teams. Of course, this varies from person to person and generation to generation. My generation and older sees them as the same thing, whereas younger folks see the NS's as old and the Wild as new. It would be media hype rather than anything. I just think it would be fun to have Minn. and Dallas play each other. The jersey thing was kind of a joke.

After Detroit gets it, then have one in Minnesota vs Dallas. Wild wear Home North Star jerseys. Stars wear Away North Star jerseys. The next year, bring Phoenix to Winnipeg. And Calgary to Atlanta... oh, wait.... Seriously, though. As much as I'd like to see another Detroit WC, I would love to see Dallas at Minn. I just wish they'd have done it before Modano retired. Maybe he could drop the ceremonial puck or something. As far as who Detroit will play, I'd actually like to have it be a division game, but I think the Hawks would be the only team strong enough to draw a good audience given their fairly recent Cup and their status as an O6 team. Worked well last time.

I was going to cheer for the Rangers, since any team with Pronger is anathema. But since he's not playing, and Lilja and Jagr are playing, I can't help myself. More than anything, this says that I really can't find anything to like about the Rags.
