Grammas came to stay for weeks to help out with the new baby and any other kids so that the new mom could get some sleep and there would be someone around the house to cook and clean and do laundry whilst the new mom was recovering. Fast forward to this century: Dads take care of kids of all ages, including babies, and do housework. Due to this, they have to take some time off of work to do these things. 40 or more years ago, I'd have wondered why he took time off. Today, it's just part of the expected game plan. I felt dirty rooting for the Vikings yesterday. Congrats to the Pack on their still-unbeaten record.
