White. Scrub caked-on messes or let the pan soak?

I used to swim pretty much every day in high school. As long as there's not too much chlorine, it's fine, but the older I get, the more that bothers me. The person below me is feeling under the weather.

It depends on if I need caffeine or not. Minute rice or regular rice?

If you're still there, you should definitely go home. The person below me plays pool.

Never had it. The person below me has trouble getting motivated.

Better than dirty ones. The person below me snores loudly enough to wake farm animals in the next township.

I love pasta. I'll take the angel hair, please. Ice cream or popsicles?

Maybe they're booing cancer. Huh? Did people ever think of that? Huh? Maybe they just don't like cancer. Yeah, that's it. They don't like cancer. Yes, definitely overblown. Good grief.

Leaving shortly for mom's and then on to the game. I was hoping to see what Fabian had going on, but we'll have to wait and see, I guess. Rocking the new Kronwall jersey for the first time. Go Wings!!!

I used to wish that so I could play hockey and football and wouldn't have had to take home ec. It was more wishing that I could get out of my societal stereotyped activities than wishing to actually be the other gender. Now I'm glad I'm not. When you get old, it's a lot less of a sucks to ask for help with lifting or things like that if you're a girl. The older I get, the more help I need. I'm sure when I'm actually old, I'll be needing to play the old lady card. It will come in handy for tire changes and that sort of thing. I'm glad I learned to do what I need despite being a girl in a world where it was assumed that your husband will do it for you, so you don't have to, but I'm also glad that there are still young people who will help an old person if needed. I'm thinking of this because the first part of your post made me think of my friend Jodie, and there was a time she was coming to work and got a flat. She had no sooner gotten out and opened the trunk than a car with 3 college guys stopped and changed it and refused to take anything for it. She was another tough old bat like me, but she said that being a little old lady had its perks. She was just shy of 70 at that time, and could still have changed that tire if she'd had to, but she was grateful for those boys so she didn't have to. Blah, blah, blah. I'm blathering today.

So who thinks the Lions will fall before the Pack, who thinks the Pack will fall first, and who thinks they'll both lose their first game in the same week?

I'd put him around an 8. I had to give you a plus for "Greater Canuckistan". That was hilarious.

Oh, oh, Dawn...

I seriously need to get Gangsta Paradise out of my head. It's been playing for 3 days now.

Yeah. And... It's located SE of, um, Edmonton...

It's because the Wings are in the eastern time zone. West coast games don't start until after the kids are in bed and don't end until after the teenagers get home. Loooooooooong time for mom and dad to be awake to watch hockey. Plus the team would have to do a lot less traveling and not have to deal with time zone changes until the SCF.

Chips. Prison or an asylum?

I'm glad you did. I just hope I get to meet some Saturday. Or at least get some good pics. The person below me thinks Eaves needs a trim.

I've done that. The person below me wonders what would have happened if they had gone into the first career that they had chosen when they were a child.

Yesterday was my friend Trisha's birthday. She's a Lions fan. Good day for her. Living in Vikings territory, this is a sweet year. Quite a few people who are fans of other teams have told me privately that they are closet Lions fans (as a second team) who would like to see the Lions have a good year. My friends, this may well be it. All we have to do is be better than the Packers. That's a tall order, but if we can do that, I think we can beat anybody.

Actually since I can't see games during the week, the Oct schedule works for me. The person below me is happy about the Lions' 5-0 start to the season.

Maybe they'll trade Doan for Hudler and one of the Illitch kids. They do need an owner...

Tell the Illitch Family to Drop "Presented by Amway"
55fan replied to WingedWheeler1319's topic in General
I'll be honest with you, Trey. Until I got on the internet, I paid zero attention to the Griffins. I was aware that they were there, but that's the extent of it. I had no idea who sponsored their arena, nor did I care. I also had no clue until this all came up that Van Andel was the name of the Amway guy (or one of them). Where was I in '96? 3 states away, and still unaware that "cut and paste" and "mouse" could make sense in the same sentence (barring rodent taxidermy, of course). I know a lot of people would prefer that the Wings play in an arena that reflects hockey. Howe Arena or something of that nature would be perfect. However, we're in an era of corporate sponsorship. They spend the money; they want their name on it. If you think about it, it's really nothing more than really expensive advertising for them- and really, really expensive advertising at that. I think that even though a lot of us wish for a pure hockey name, we realize that it's not a fiscal likelihood. What I'm seeing in this thread, and was alluding to in the text you quoted, is that the flow of the posts seems to indicate that some people are unaware that most of the dissension springs from the company itself rather than corporate naming in general. Maybe I'm wrong, or maybe I wasn't clear in the post you quoted. It just seems like the thread goes something like this: Boo Amway! Boo Amway! Why are you against corporations? It's not corporations, it's Amway. Boo Amway! Why are you against corporations? It's not corporations, it's Amway. Boo Amway! Why are you against corporations? It's not corporations, it's Amway. Boo Amway! Ad nauseum, ad infinitum. It's true that some people have no issue with Amway, and others have issues with any corporate sponsorship, but it seems that this thread is going in circles with regard to what people are thinking that others are thinking. Either that or there are some people putting up strawmen. -
For old times' sake:

Exactly. It is not a corporate issue. It's an Amway issue. Snuggles presents the Detroit Red Wings, who are on a Hot n Juicy Power Play in the Third Period (brought to you by Sominex), here in the Fischer Price Arena? No problem. I think enough people have harped on the fact that this is an AMWAY issue that people who are taking the issue as a generic sponsorship issue are either not paying attention or dodging the question purposely.
