Depends on the parents... and how well you get along. I love my mom, but I don't know if I'd want to live with her long-term. Hossa or Kopecky?
-
Congratulations, Cory. May you have many more for the Wings!
-
Jimmy! Who needs Nabby?
-
Night shift worker here. 2 hours of sleep. I feel so European. Go Wings.

His agent said that he would not opt out of the contract. Of course, he might not have given thought to it being the Islanders...
-
Wouldn't even have had to do any paperwork. Just don't get the camera too close. Oh... I just had a brilliant idea for circumventing the cap. I must get back to my lair. Hope Val gets better, and Emmerton does well.

I think it is to prevent a team from getting a cheap (pro-rated) player for half a season. Say that Bob Forward (fictional player) played for the Fighting Hamsters, but they didn't have enough cap space to meet his $4m/season demands. They only had $2m. If they just didn't sign him and he, as a free agent went to Uganda to play with the Galumphing Turtles for their season (which ends in January) for $3m, and then signed with the Hamsters for $4m (but since half of the season was over, it would only cost them $2m), he'd get $5m, and the Hamsters would get a $4m player for half price for the rest of the season and the playoffs. It gets them in under the cap, but his value is more than that so it circumvents the cap. At least that's how I understand it. Hopefully if there's more to it, someone else will chime in.

Oh, my. I read "hit woman during road trip" and thought it was a hit and run. She slapped him first. Sauce for the goose and all that. I probably would have done the same had he lifted me (assuming he didn't get a hernia), but I would expect that if I hit someone that I'd be getting it back shortly. If he gets charged, she should too as she hit first.

I just realized that 12 Detroit time is 11 my time. Yay! I get the news an hour earlier than I thought! I suppose there will be some sort of announcement made by the League as to who the lowest team is? Now that I think about it, they will have to wait until noon to be sure that all of the bids are in, and then make sure that the winning team is cap-compliant before they announce it. Of course they could be doing this right now with the winner-apparent just in case no lower teams put in a bid. I wonder if we'll be told at noon, or if there will be a bit of a wait. I'm also wondering something else. Does anyone know where Nabokov is right now? When will he have to report to his new team?
-
Not this chick. The person below me has legs, and knows how to use them.
-
I know nothing will happen until noon, but I'm staying up on other people's comments. Tuesday or Wednesday?

Hawks win the Nabby lottery. Nabby, who has been chilling in the D, suits up and plays for his new team, but thankful to Detroit for bringing him back to the NHL, he "misses" quite a few saves. Final score Wings 4837547384l- Hawks 3<-- (Pearce starts for Wings after Jimmy gets a hangnail. Didn't get the memo that Kopy was no longer a Wing so didn't bother to block his shots figuring they wouldn't go in anyway. Pearce gets set straight at first tv timeout and is fine from there on out.) Hawks think Nabby sucks and put him back on waivers. Other teams don't bother to claim him, not wanting the same problem, and Nabby becomes a Wing.

We could save a lot of typing if the mods just put "autobump" on "Floppa is back!!!" threads. Every 6 months the thread would appear, we could re-read it, comment if we wished, and all would be the same.

Either. Just so long as I get lunch. Umbrella, poncho, hood up, or no covering?
-
Only if it had little legs like a coffee table. The person below me is living where the temp is well below 0.
-
Nope. I don't think he will clear waivers. I will be checking frequently, but not every ten minutes. The person below me gets munchies a lot, but is not a pothead.
-
It's a plot. A plan, a scheme, a design, a tarp. Nabby is only the first. He gets claimed, and then it will be Emery, then another, then another, until every team under us has either passed on or claimed a goalie. Then- and only then- will Holland come out with his true objective. Hasek. And he will be ours! All ours! Mwahahahahahaha.

Booger King any day. Rainy days or Mondays?

I am too busy being concerned for Ozzie and what this means for him. The person below me is in one of those moods.

OK, the game starts at 8:00 Eastern time, which is 7 central, and we're in St. Louis, which is central time, so the Wings need to come in at 7 eastern just to be sure, which means that they'll actually start playing some hockey at 8E/7C which they will think is the beginning of the second period, but will actually be the start of the game. Now all we have to do is convince them that there are 4 periods of hockey and that they need to play all the way through, and we're gold. Go Wings!!!
-
Nope. Although considering that it won't get above 0 until next week, that is not on my list of things to worry about. The person below me used to watch "the Greatest American Hero".
-
Frequently. I play the Wild Card 2. It has better chances, but a much lower payout. I don't care about being rich. I just want my bills paid off. The person below me wears a necklace on a regular basis.

Fear of falling- and landing. I'm ok with heights if I am safe. If I'm on a ladder I can't make myself go up more than 3 or 4 steps. It's not totally irrational- I have a bum knee that can go without warning. If you're climbing a ladder and your knee buckles, down you go. Pancakes or French toast?
-
Yep. It's going to be 25/8. Or maybe 80/7. The big question is whether or not anyone outside of the media noticed if he didn't show up.
