How big of a Wings fan is your Wife/Girlfriend/Significant Other?
55fan replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
My bf keeps trying to get me to watch football. He is convinced that I must have never seen it since I like hockey. Pfft. My dad was a football coach, and I have been a hard-core Lions fan for over 4 decades. I know football. I just like hockey better. He just doesn't understand. My dad, on the other hand, lucked out. My mom didn't like sports, but now she's a big Wings fan. She can even carry on intelligent conversations about it, although they can be a bit vague and funny like most of her conversations. -
I will be by the time I get there. The person below me is fighting the urge to do something completely irresponsible.

I don't know about ruder, but they are far less aware of their surroundings and the people near them. Ruder by subtraction, perhaps. They ignore you when they shouldn't. If someone comes up to the counter on a phone or texting. I stand and wait for them to finish or ask the person they're talking to to "hold on" before I wait on them. If they are paying attention to me, but listening half-heartedly to the person on the phone, then I go ahead with the transaction. These devices are certainly making people socially stupider. The person below me bleeds a lot when they scrape themselves.

I can't believe that with all of the famous folks from Roseau that this is the first time the Cup has ever been there. It even made the Fargo paper, and that takes something for hockey. The only hockey-related thing we've had all summer was a full front page article with a ton of pics when Cullen signed with the Wild.

No, but I have had dogs. I love them, but with my work schedule I would not be a good owner. The person below me is in possession of a lottery ticket for an upcoming drawing.

I'm biased. 55. Watch or other portable time-telling device?

Nope. About 5'10". The person below me is over 200 pounds.

That depends on whether you are asking about a potential mate or this evening's dinner. I don't connect emotionally with many people, so I'll say looks, which is odd since most of my boy friends have been on the not-so-good-looking side except for one who had no emotional connections with anyone- pure sociopath, albeit a non-violent one. Trick or treat?

No. Many things are possible, but not anything. I will never be a horse. (Not that I want to, just by way of illustration.) The person below me has wondered what it would be like to be an animal at some time.

I suppose, but imagine the confusion when a player gets called for high sticking twice in one play.
-
Good heavens! I should hope that would be an off-ice scandal.

Wow, man. Sorry to hear about that. I have cousins in Iowa so I've been hearing stories, but they are out of the flood problem area. Between Fargo and Iowa, we seem to be alternating floods. Hoping for the best for you. Kind of keeps things in perspective as far as this thread goes, eh?

No peppers for me. They ruin my delicate constitution. Iron a wrinkled shirt or throw it back in the dryer with a wet rag?

I have a hamster named Johan, but it just doesn't have the same ring to it does it? I bet that somewhere in Michigan, someone has named a Mule "Johan" or "Franzen". The person below me has hosted a Foreign Exchange Student.

Smack them unless it is a matter of life and death, in which case rules of fair play go out the window. Watermelon or peaches?

My computer is lagging badly so I didn't actually watch it, but my experience with Frank is that he is a dead-on impressionist who would be one of the greatest entertainers on the planet if he was actually funny. The person below me wonders who this "Southern Wings Fan" person who suddenly appeared around here is.

Aside from <-------? Of course. I think at one point in our lives we all have. The person below me had a crush by the time they were three years old. (Joe Namath for me.)

Swedish. For the meatballs. Icelandic or Ukrainian?

The odds of him getting on the team are pretty slim. Talking about something hockey-related in the offseason that hasn't been hashed and rehashed is what is keeping this thread going. That said, if he comes along and puts all of his competition to shame, I'll be the last to complain. I can dig it when anyone comes along and shines surprisingly bright for Detroit. If he does make it, I hope we can trade for Selanne so we can find out what the Finnish translation is for "two kids and a goat".

Smooth, like a Datsyukian Deke. Fold your undies or just throw them in the drawer?
