You poor thing. Let's look at your options. 1) Take a large sheet of graph paper. Make a rink out of it with each square=1 square inch of ice surface. Calculate what blade curve would produce the best chance of scoring for each degree off of square that the shooter is off, based on the net, when shooting. Calculate the trajectory needed to hit each zone. Repeat with non-dominant hand for reference for other-handed players. Compare stats with Eva for verification. 2) Hang out in the Hottest Wings thread. Go back to the beginning- 700+ pages ago- and look at all of the pictures (most of which have been moved or expired). 3) Trace the genealogy of all major hockey players and determine which of their common relatives would produce the best hockey player. Find them and take samples of their reproductive starter kits. Mate them in a lab. Find women willing to carry them to term and raise them as the next generation of the Greatest Team on Earth. (see above suggestion for potential volunteer list) 4) Get back in the Water Cooler and finish your freakin' great adventure.

The only way that this could bite us in the butt is if: Zata got an injury which did not keep him off of the ice, but drastically reduced his level of ability, AND if Zata refused to see that his inability to play should be a broad hint to retire, AND if the organization did not send him down to GR to get him off of the team to make room for someone who could play (I'm assuming that if he's that broken waivers and trades would not factor in). If all three of the above happened, it would be bad. The odds of this happening are slim to none. If Zata didn't realize his need to retire, someone would spell it out for him. If he was stubborn, loyalty or no, the organization would send him down if they really had to. Add to that what Datsyerberger said, and my answer is "no". It was a good signing. Datsyerberger rules.

I know exactly what I would say in the only circumstance I can imagine where Steve and I were together at lunch: "You want fries with that?" No, I'd probably thank him for his career and turning our team around and congratulate him on the Olympics, then I'd wish him well in Tampa and tell him I named my truck after him. Then I'd shut up and let him talk. The person below me doesn't know what they'd say if they won lunch with Bettman.

That depends on the level of responsibility I have for that person. If we're talking about a kid: check. If we're talking about a vulnerable adult: check. If we're talking about an adult who is able to make their own decisions: let them know you're there for them. TV shows that show you how to decorate a room or how to decorate a cake?

If they involve hand-eye coordination I suck because I don't have a mouse and my cursor movement is a bit erratic to say the least. Also my anti-virus updates at inconvenient times and that causes large pauses. If it involves intellect, I rule. (Like Jenny when she auditions.) The person below me stays up until the dishwasher is done running.

Maybe he'd rather stay near home (as opposed to moving to another state) and play with the GR kids where he can be "the Man" and show them a thing or two. Then he can be a Black Ace for the playoffs. IfWhen we make it to the finals, he can hop in for an injured player for at least one game, still get his name on the Cup and retire with his good buddy Drapes. Or maybe he has just been a Wing for so long that it would be icky to be anything else.

This one just makes me laugh.
