Granted I don't get many games on tv, but it seems like everytime they play it, it gets cut and the crowd finishes it.

I think they mean the lease at the Joe. There is talk that they will be back for another year, though. As for Lids, I'm sure he owns his house. As for the OP, I think Homer will be back, but I sure can see why people would speculate that he would retire with Lids. I have heard nothing either way.

Seriously? Hasek on every category except the negative ones like "biggest bastard". Sorry, Dom, you're not even a nominee on that one. Yeah, Roy could keep pucks out of the net, which is handy in a goalie, but he is not a MAN like Dom. Oakland or Cleveland?

The fans. The Sharks have not yet touched an Octopus. Someone needs to get out there tonight and throw one close enough to them that they will be inexorably drawn to it and they will touch it. That, my friends, is the reason we have not yet won this round.

For those of you going to the game: The Sharks have not touched Octopus yet. This is a problem. If you are going to throw, I'm sure that you know the proper procedure. Don't throw it at anyone. However, if you have the chance, please throw it in the general area of the Sharks. Not at them, near them. It has to land near someone, why not someone who could curse his team? Goad them. Entice them. Make it irresistible. And cheer loudly. Thank you.

I'd love to hear some Seger, but other than "Night Moves" (which we couldn't use during day games) I couldn't really think of anything. Plus I was trying to think of something that had the pithy positivity of "Don't Stop Believing".

But without the Geico commercials! I think Leb/Lil is the better combination, but right now it seems to be more of a "get the kids experience" mindset what with Ritola coming in and all. Now watch, Ericsson will do something huge (in a good way) tonight to prove me wrong.

I'm a middle-aged woman in North Dakota. I don't know which I prefer, but I have extensive experience with both. I guess I'd rather be cold because you can always add more clothing, but you can't always take more off. Pot pie or stew?

Very cool post. I hadn't realized Jimmy was with that team. I love the "period by period" mindset. That has been our bane all season. If they play each period as though they were behind by three, they would get through this thing. Unfortunately, it's hard to get 4 skaters, a goalie, and a guy in the box on the same page with this attitude.

Hasn't happened YET in the salary cap era. The cap doesn't prevent us from winning a game. And then another. And then another... I don't blame those who are looking at this and seeing that the odds are huge, and are getting disappointed in advance, but as for me, I'm not giving up until the final buzzer of the last game we play for the season.

No, but I did quit one after I was told that I was "trainable" and needed to take a couple of weeks off (and use all my vacation time) because a couple of teenagers didn't think they had to clean and complained that they didn't want to work with me because was mean. They wanted to give us some time apart, so I quit. I walked out of there with the weight of the world off of my shoulders. The person below me has made home-made bread.
